Using an XBox controller/gamepad for SWTOR :D

Unfortunately, there is no game pad support yet, or is there any indication that there will be. There was a post about a year or so ago about how to set up a controller using Xpadder and other programs so you can use your gamepad. I have some gnarly Carpal Tunnel, so I only use my Nostromo and Naga when raiding, till i get more proficient with my gamepad. lots of people say that it is not as efficient as using a keyboard and mouse, or a Nostromo/Naga combo, which I am use to, but with practice, it is not much different than the others when raiding or PVP'n.

Here's Peep's original post http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=8841

Right now I have set it up for my Guardian DPS Vig spec, and i figured I would throw a nice picture of my set up here so you can get a good idea of how you could set yours up.

Here is my set up with my XBox 360 conrtoller:http://imgur.com/udhCXzT

As you can see, there are 3 different layouts. This allows us to utilize all the buttons on 3 different map sets, allowing us to have access to many more buttons. All you have to do to be able to switch mapings is hit one of the top shoulder buttons, L or R. Holding down the L button will open the L mapping while the button is held down. Holding down the R button allows you to access the R mapping while holding that button down. The main mapping does not require any additional buttons to be held.

I switch enemy targets with the select button.

My left thumbstick lets me move my character foward and back and strafe left and right. My right thumb stick acts as my mouse, moving the coursor. I am able to use to two trigger buttons the same as i would my 2 main mouse buttons, each on their respective side. This way, i hold down my right trigger and move the right thumbstick to move the camera around as I please.

Other than that, all the buttons are self explanitory. I have my main rotation abilitys on my main mapping, defensives and second most common abilitys on the left mapping, and utility abilities on my right mapping.

I am getting together my Sage's mapping which stick within the same basic perameters and my guardian, and once I am more comfortable with it I will post a picture of those as well.

If anyone has ANY questions about how to set up XPadder or why I do something, or any help in general, please don't be shy! Hope this helps!!!!
