Krexzen
So I come home from work yesterday. It was the usual ****** day. You know the kind. Taxes are to high, the wife *****es at me to much, the kids are outgrowing shoes and clothes so fast that Im probally going to need to take a second mortgage out on my house, and my dog chewed up another freaking tv remote. Now I didnt make it home until almost 10 at night (i left at 4:30 am) and everybody was already asleep except for my guilty looking dog. So I poured myself a drink and fired up the computer. As I sat there I thought, *** am I doing? ~insert dream sequence~ From there I started thinking about my chilhood. I come from a small town in PA. and I was lucky enough to be born in 1973. Although it wasnt until 79 that I saw Star Wars A New Hope. I was witness, to the "radness" that was the Empire Strikes Back. As a seven year old going to the movies was exciting enough. Throw in all the fans and lightsabers and makeup and I was happy, scared and excited all at the same time. Of course I loved the movie. That movie changed the way my friends and I played together. We no longer wanted to be the guy in the 9th inning hitting the game winning homerun. Screw that! I WANT TO BE A JEDI! Fast foward 3 yrs and I believe I was the perfect age for The Return of the Jedi! Somewhere between 1980 and 1983 though, my friends and I began an adventure into RPG'ing. No roll of tape, broom handles or any type of paint in green, blue or red was safe. We would construct lightsabers out of these materials and paint our blades (broom handles) accordingly. We beat the crap out of each other with those. To see 10 kids standing across the town park with red sabers and 10 on the otherside with mishmashed blue and green sabers was a sight to behold! ~faze out dream sequence~ Computer is on so I fire up SWTOR. I log on pick up the daily PvP mission and a funny thing happened that first game. All I see the whole game was red, blue and green glowsticks. Not one blaster or pew pew anywhere. I dont think Ive fought so hard In a WZ. It was glorious. It was Nova Coast and we barely won but the fun and excitment I was feeling was, well to put as if I were 10 again "rad". That feeling continued throughout the night and I had the best freaking time! Win or lose It didnt matter...I was a JEDI! So I just want to thank all who put an effort Into making this game and bringing me back to a time I thought was long gone and far far away.
