Sitting on the fleet

Not sure which AC to go.

I've played a GS in the past up to 27 and an operative up to 30. I was a healer on my operative but if I go scoundrel I'd want to go DPS. I'm probably going to be focusing more on PvP but I'll at least do my FP dailies.

I'd prefer to play range just because I'm kinda sick of being close range (been chiefly melee in TOR and a few other MMOs lately) but I do really like playing stealth in PvP. I want to be viable in PvE too though and I've heard dps scoundrel is kind of lackluster due to a lack of sustained damage? Don't want to play healer in PvP and don't want to keep spending credits to constantly respec from healer to DPS depending on if I'm doing PvE or PvP.

I would like having the option of being more than just dps if I ever fancy something different some time down the road.

I guess I'm kind of leaning towards scoundrel but I don't like the idea of not being valued as a dps in PvE, even if I'm focusing more on PvP, and like I said I would slightly prefer to be ranged. I'm also probably going to be rolling on a PvP server and I do like being stealth for that as well (not so much for ganking but being able to stealth makes me feel safer).

Well, Gunslinger is obviously pure DPS class so you don't have any options if you choose this AC (although for pure DPS purposes I'd prefer Gunslinger over Scoundrel any day).

For Scoundrel you kinda have to go Scrapper to be universally viable in PvP and PvE (although if you want to experiment with DF, read this thread http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=498871). Technically you can have high DPS as Scoundrel, but it's for sure the hardest class to play in the game and only the best can use its full potential.

As for ranged vs stealth - these are completely different playstyles which do not mix together. As ranged you specialise in unleashing max DPS from (hopefully) safe distance, while as stealth you give up some DPS numbers and specialize more in objectives-based play.
