Artifice--Crafting Artifacts

I recently spent 9K credits to purchase an artifact schematic for my lv.400 artificer, the intention was to make two of these artifacts to send to my main character, but once I tried to send it, the item was bound. My question is this: are all artifacts created by artifice bound to character upon creation, or should they be able to be mailed to another character for them to use? Thanks.

All the rakata schematics the trainer has (for any craft skill) will give you BoP items.

But since we're talking about Artifice, I suggest not even bother. Get the matrix cube and 1 of the pvp relics for 11k. That's more than enough when you hit 50.

Combat Training, lower left side. There's 4 groups of vendors, one for each base class (Knight, Consular, Trooper, Smuggler from West to East).

Hopefully the 2 hour wait time on binding for BoP items in 1.4 will fix this issue as well?

I would assume that crafting a bind on pickup item will still be bind on pickup. It seemed to me that the delayed binding is for item drops. It would be nice to be able to do that though, heck even Bind to Legacy would be great.

the 2 hour delay is for item drops in groups where someone hits "need" because they didn't pay attention that said item was offhand only (i've done this) or by accident (which I've also done)

 

it's so you can trade them to someone else in your group if they are indeed adding a 2hour timer on BoP items.....I doubt any crafted BoP items will be tradeable.
