Plus the aim augments have endurance on them and in a full augmented set of war hero you have a ton of hp (19k+ without stim) which is a nice boost to survivability whilst also getting good offensive stats. I agree aim > defense. however your aim + endurance = enough defense argument isn't great since I could counter with using the power/defense augs.
