JediRuss Posted June 24, 2012 Share Posted June 24, 2012 I'm kinda stuck on what battle master set to get, I have a full tactics tree build right now and I kinda want the best of both worlds as far as protection and damage..could someone shed some light on which one is the best fit for that? MatticusFinch Posted June 25, 2012 Share Posted June 25, 2012 At the moment, the best mix of survivability and DPS is a full shield specialist build while using DPS gear (keeping a shield instead of generator). Either Combat Tech or Eliminator work fine for this, for the moment, but stockstrike is getting nerfed to the face in 1.3 in that tree, so Eliminator sets will be better. I'll have to see if the overall DPS nerf in shield specialist eliminates it all together as a viable PvP build (with DPS gear, that is). My impression is that it will still be a great mix just not as much so, but this point is to be continued... If you stay in Tactics then I'd recommend the CT set since your HiBs (if you even use them) should crit automatically. I'll be honest by saying that I've never tried a DPS build with tank gear but it doesn't sound good in my head, so unless someone who's done it strongly encourages you to get supercommando, I would stay away from that set. Well this is certainly big news. Ive never seen such a setup beat AS in damage and they die as often as AS in DPS gear in PVP....yet it's the best balance? evidence? and no DPS should be in SC gear.
