Set bonus vs. Augment slot (tanking)

The Supercommando armor bonus for 4 pieces is +2% defense rating to mele, range, tech, and force. 2 bonus for 2 pieces is just a few seconds off cooldown for 2 abilities which isnt even that great.

 

Replacing the Purple rakata gear with augmented gear would give an additional 60 endurance and 90 aim.

 

Thats a ton of extra stats, so how important is defense rating anyway? Has anyone done this?

I think defense adds to the chance to parry and deflect. The exact level of priority I'm not sure but I think it's still up to the user. Are you having threat generation problems? Then go with the extra aim. Otherwise keep the mitigation for your healers.

 

For PvP Aim and Endurance for sure.

1. What is the cap for aim?

2. with 1.3 all gear will be augmentable. Would it be better to add power for a DPS boost or mitigation for survivability? I ask because in EC Hard Mode the enrage timers are tight so every bit of DPS helps right?
