AnAcuteAngle
Anyone willing to post a screenie or two to show the optimal way of setting up bars/ hotkeys for a Pyro build. I just got back to this game, a little rusty and haven't found a great setup that I really like yet. Thank you

CBRGhostRider
This setup seems optimal. LOL. To the OP, I'm at work so I don't have a screenie for you ATM, but here is what I do (i have a 5 button mouse FYI). First off, my movement is re-mapped to esdf instead of wasd (used in conjunction with mouse of course to move). That gives me q, a, z, ~ , 1 to hit with my pinky *WHILE BEING ABLE TO MOVE*. As we know mobility is a big plus with this spec. Therefore attacks that can be pulled off on the move: Mouse button 3 is rapid shots, Mouse button 4 is rocket punch Mouse button 5 is flame burst. q mapped to TD 1 mapped to RS ctrl + mouse (3, 4, 5): I have defensive cd (bubble) and 2 relics shift + mouse (3, 4, 5): I have kolto, medpack (pve) medpack (pvp) Other keys that I use are 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, w, r, t, y, a, g, h, z, x,c, v, b Few other important things: r = interrupt, since it is very easy to reach and very important w = stealth scan, since it is easy to find and I HATE it when marauders pop camo and hide x = IM z = AoE taunt g = grapple t = carbonize 6 = ED (both stuns pulled off by same finger) Edited June 8, 2012 by CBRGhostRider
BlazingShadow
I use anormal 2 button mouse. I disabled backpedaling (s) WAD are movement, Q for quell(interrupt), E for electrodart, r for Railshot, T for Taunt(single), Y for sonic missile, V for explosive dart, B for shield(bubble) H for Kolto Overload(heal), C for Death from Above, F for Carbonize (freeze), 1-5 for primary attacks; rapid shots is always #1 and flame burst is always #2 Shift+1 is flamesweep, shift+2 is flamethrower, shift +3 is Unload (shift+ attacks are all channeled) trinkets are End + Page up + Page Down, stealth scan is the Delete button, and J for my jetpack. oh, and S is for movement augmentation abilities... jet charge for shieldtech, hydraulic overrides for AP, nothing for pyro Edited June 8, 2012 by BlazingShadow
AnAcuteAngle
Ah, I typically don't like using mouse buttons. And that's a clever name/key setup, but I feel more obligated to group things together on my bars (and keys as well) by their functions (CC, Rotation, Defensive abilities, etc). But that's just preference. EDIT: I've found that I typically like Rapid Shots on Q, my rotation on 1-4, CC on my Shifts, Then ` Z T X V for CD's. T-Assassin
i don't think posting a SS would help you much, as you would not understand my set-up...but, i use a nostromo, NO MACROS, and have my hot bars set up the exact same for my PT, merc, and VG. i can't do what i do on a nostromo on a keyboard, the binding keys where i like them and they feel comfortable is great. i highly recommend getting one. and i use a trackball mouse with a whopping 2 buttons, so nothin special there. but, you can map anything on the nostromo. Aharx
What... no clickers? I'm only level 22 on my Pyrotech Powertech BH now but I gotta say I've been playing MMO's for about 12 years now and I've always been a hybrid between a clicker and hotkey user. I have my action bars optimally set up so that I can use my left hand for as much as possible but there are a few that I'll use the mouse with. This is how I've always played MMO's though. I consider myself quick enough that I do not hinder myself doing it this way. Who knows though! Maybe when I get to level 50 on my BH I will take a look at my set up and try something new. I just got back to this game, a little rusty and haven't found a great setup that I really like yet. Thank you Go buy a Razar Naga....key binding on a keyboard for the major abilities is for chumps. You can bind up to 15 keys just on your mouse. You master that, all your abilities can be done through your thumb. So much faster than pressing keys on a keyboard. Fronteria
http://i.imgur.com/efSdb.jpg I just rerolled a new character on The Fatman. This setup works for me. You may notice i haven't bound a key to my rakata heal stim or warzone medpack, because it's ideal for the pryotech to burst damage / flood heat meter, then die. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=479321 Edited June 14, 2012 by Fronteria

Derilictus
First Row [m4 m5 m6 q e r f x z c g t] Second Row [shift + (m4 m5 m6 q e r f x z c g t)] Third Row [buffs] Spammy / Main attacks are bound to mouse buttons and shift+mouse buttons. wasd for movement (a&d rebound to strafe). Regardless of what people think, back-peddle is good for continually aligning yourself away from the pit of the action reducing likeliness of being targeted by a mob of players. I am a highly mobile player, hence why I chose Pyro PT after playing all classes.
