Imperial Miraluka

One might think that the use of the Force to see is a biological imperative for Miraluka. Provided that they cannot expand their usage of the Force, it is possible that they could hold different positions. We do, after all, have Sith in this game who are not, well...Sith.

Not all purebloods are force users. It is rare but happens, but I do wish they would have though more of the lore when doing this.

Miraluka "see" with the Force, but this is an adaptation to the visual difficulties of their homeworld. Some (most? we don't know either way) may not have a strong enough connection to the Force to use it for combat purposes, Jedi or Sith. Kinda like the difference between someone with a sort of telepathic ability perceiving someone's emotions or being able to control someone with their mind -- same sort of power, vastly different amounts of it.

That being said, I feel like random Miraluka in the Empire would either be forced into the Sith trials, or possibly be experimented on. :/ Might be less of a problem for the Bounty Hunter, who kinda freewheels around and repeatedly denies being an Imperial, but it would be slightly odd for an IA. Or maybe a Miraluka IA was deemed not strong enough in the Force to go through Sith training, but was put into Intelligence to be watched. Or something. :o

Imperial quest on Balmorra has has you slaughter for users that aren't even powerful enough for Jedi training, in accordance of Imperial law.

But since BioWare has based so much of this game around story they should have done better to keep it.

That's more a LucasArts fail than a BioWare fail. LucasArts has a long standing history of leaving plot holes and resolving them with little more than, "Because screw you, that's why."

the legacy system isn't supposed to be taken too seriously or be canon.

if you make an imperial miraluka, then you aren't a canon option for that class so thus they see you as a human. same with any other legacy race. they'll respond to you as if you were human.

its a bonus gameplay feature that is not supposed ot really effect or be mentioned int he story.

same with sith pureblood. its completely possible for one to be a jedi or to be a smuggler or trooper whatever. but lore-wise you'd at least get alot of people going "oh woah, you're a sith pureblood! weird man, but whatever!" you won't because the game wasn't written with the legacy unlocks in mind.

so yeah, imperial miralukas would be sith or be killed from a lore standpoint.

Generally an Imperial Miraluka who is not a Sith would probably be, in some way, under the protection of a powerful Sith Lord who has let them pursue other means, much like the few Pureblood Sith who are not Sith (since they would usually be killed at birth or in their training).

That said, they would be rare, but player character are generally supposed to be rare individuals anyway.

Since they use the force to see. Then they would be required to be Sith or die according to Imperial law. Anyone else see this as a fail?

Almost the entire idea of cross races between factions is a complete fail actually. Its a lame attempt of adding more replay value to a game in decline after a few months at the expense of lore content and plausibility. Is pretty cheap. Think alone about Sith Pureblood Jedi makes me crack up and your Miraluka point is 100% valid.

Given: There are non-Force-sensitive Sith PB that exist and find service in other areas of the Empire (example: Sith PB Diplomat on Voss).

Assumption: Some of these purebloods could have served in other areas of the military.

Given: There are Imperial POWs taken by the Republic (example: Belsavis)

Assumption: Some of these POWs could have been non-Force-sensitive Purebloods.

Given: Force-sensitive prisoners that are exceptionally dangerrous are kept in stasis (example: The uber-sith in Stasis on Belsavis).

Assumption: Weaker sith, once disarmed of lightsaber, might not automatically be thrown into stasis (that could be prohibitively expensive to be used on a large scale).

Assumption: In either case said prisoners might not have been freed in a prisoner exchange and resided in unisex prisons or on penal colonies sufficiently long enough to start having children. Such children would not be required to stay in prison and may very well have been taken way from their parents to be raised as loyal Republic citizens.

Conclusion: While unlikely, it isn't impossible to see Sith Purebloods in any role on the Republic side.
