Daecollo Posted April 17, 2012 Share Posted April 17, 2012 (edited) Shield Specialist - Remove Energy Blast - Replace Energy Blast with Gut, Increase Guts Internal and Kenetic Damage by 15% and make it 6 Seconds instead of 18 Seconds, add in a 12 second cooldown. (Gut is a Melee Attack, I think it should be the Shield Specialist's Endline, Tactics Tree is a Movement Speed, getting up close and personal and using Gut is pretty much instant death if your fighting a Marauder or Juggernaut, or pretty much ANY melee class as a tactics, that is why THIS should be shield specialist's Endline.) Tactics Tree: - Remove Gut - Remove Serrated Blades - Replace Gut with Pulse Shot, this attack shares a cooldown and is a replacement to Ion Pulse. This attack has a 30m range and basicly does the same damage as Ion Pulse, and all things that proc and increase the damage of Ion Pulse also increase the damage of Pulse Shot. (if you ever played Shadows of the Empire, Pulse Shot should look like your firing a bunch of little pulse balls: [1:31 in the video] Chechechechechechechecheche, thats what it would sound like.) [This Attack is pretty much Ion Pulse with a longer range.] - Replace Serrated Blades with Precise Aim, as long as energy cell is active, this talent makes some of Pulse Shots damage deal internal damage, the damage increases with each point. (10%-20%-30% Of Pulse Shots damage is Internal.) - Combat Tactics: Damage dealt by Stockstrike and Pulse Shot has a 25% chance to make your next High Impact Bolt critical. - Hamstring: Pulse Shot and Rifle Shot have a 100% chance to lower the targets movement speed by 50% for 3 seconds. - Replace Fire Pulse with "Paint Target", It makes all damage inflicted by other players do more damage. I don't necessarily agree with them, but they would make sense for the class and spec. However, your tactics changes, especially pulse shot, are wildly out of line. Vanguards aren't meant to be 30m players. We're better than any other melee spec at 30m, especially if we go Assault, but we're meant to be within 10m for maximum damage. That's the whole reason Ion Pulse isn't a 30m skill. They want us to be at least somewhat up close and personal. Additionally, even if Pulse Shot made sense (which, again, it doesn't), it would be the logical addition to Assault, which has lots of boosts to 30m ranged damage. Tactics is clearly meant to have more of a focus on melee. You get lower CD on harpoon, increased movement speed, a great 2D closer, a melee attack, and a large boost to your 10m AoE attack. Giving Tactics the ability to do essentially full DPS at 30m range would completely change the spec. You're not asking to make it better at what it does, you're asking the devs to buff you up insanely and completely change the class. This reads like you're saying "I want to be OP! BUFF ME!". If you want changes, propose changes that would make you better at melee, mobility, and closing (which is the focus of Tactics). Yeah with primary attacks like ion pulse, fire pulse, stockstrike, and pulse cannon, it's *clearly* a long range spec... if 10m is long range to you. aRtFuL Posted April 18, 2012 Share Posted April 18, 2012 (edited) The only thing I see tactics needed is up the damage of firepulse. For our only 31 point instant burst attacks that has 15sec cooldown, it should do a LOT more damage then it is now. At least not so much less than Assault Plastique.
