Slipzman
Hello I cant seem to finish any wz's anymore without ragequitting. I play full battlemaster Vengeace Juggernaut fully comfortably keybinded and properly specced. Im doing fine most of the time on the scoreboard but I thought I would be able to matter more in a wz, Affect the outcome of the match in a direct way like I was able to in the other mmo I played (guess which one)... However I find myself hitting a class for 30 seconds then dying constantly due to being massively outnumbered or targeted by too many people even after using every trick in the book to survive. Im simply not used to this, I used to have a rule in the only other mmo that if I died more than 3-4 times in a single battleground I would leave it in shame considering I was the highest rated arena player on the server, It was a joke for myself while also giving me a challenge in each bg and ofcource this only applied when I played alone. The feeling of being a helpless class with zero effect on the games outcome other than huttball where it's not as important to be able to gain an advantage over the enemy team if you are a good ball carrier yourself, IS extremely painful to me and expresses itself in my ragequits and breaks from the game. Bottom line: I log in play for 10 min in a wz, Get killed by a million jedi consulars throwing rocks at me then I leave the wz log out and dont play for a week. < This has repeated itself for atleast a month now. I thought I never would say it but im missing WoW pvp where I could play alone without my guild premade in a bg and just relax, Doing fine and completely dominate even enemy premades alone as long as they werent consisted of players of my own or better calibre. Anyway, Some mental practice here, Are there any funny mind tricks I can play on myself to cope with this? Becaus currently I feel the way Mike Tyson would have felt if he at the top of his career would suddenly have the strenght of a 7 year old girl, All the knowledge and expertice is there but there is simply no effect. Best Regards. Edited April 13, 2012 by Slipzman
Dee-Jay
I too am utterly disappointed by Vengeance in PvP. I knew what was in store for Rage in 1.2 and it really was as bad as I expected. I then switched over to Vengeance, a spec I normally just played in PvE and was furious at how little pressure it could apply. The damage Vengeance puts out in PvP is laughable. It's so low that most people just chose to ignore me as I was hardly worth the trouble. A 2-3k crit every ~9 seconds or so is a joke when everything around it is hitting for half that much. The only redeeming quality of Vengeance is Unstoppable and nice Dispatch crits. But outside of that, it's an utter joke. I think the core problem with Vengeance is that it requires you to be in melee range almost 100% of the time, something that's impossible in PvP. That coupled with the fact that damage is spread out over too many lackluster abilities results in Vengeance's poor performance. Juggernauts currently have 3 options for PvP-DPS -Play Vengeance and hope Unstoppable is enough to carry you through Huttball. If not, enjoy hitting like a wet noodle throughout the other warzones. -Play Focus DPS in Shii-Sho form and die like a fly while waiting idle for your abilities to come off cooldown. -Play Focus DPS in Sorensu form and spend 90% of the time Rage starved because Sorensu absolutely ruins Rage generation. Why do Juggernauts have to do these stupid trade-offs when Marauders get smooth game-play in every one of their three specs?
Invictusthetaru
I play vigilance and destroy. You need to be on melee range all the time? Good thing we get an AOE snare and 1 extra second on force leap immobolize to apply it. Jesus the QQ is ridic, no one can survive ONE rotation from me anymore. This is what I do. (By the way, within the first 3 attacks they are armor debuffed by 4, which is amazing now). throw saber > jump > Freezing force > sundering strike > master strike (cut off at 2 if necessary) > plasma brand > blade storm > over head slash > dispatch dead. Dead . dead dead dead. No class unless being healed significantly or popping a med pac survives this now. Not one. I am in full BM gear w/ no mod changes, so 20 percent damage increase from gear. Melees need to be good at LoSing and know where your teammates are for ideal guardian leaps to survive. That's pretty much it.
mistersleep
I'm sorry that you're having a difficult time. I wouldn't say that I'm a one-man army, but I can comfortably beat most people that I encounter in a 1v1 situation, with the Marauder/Sentinel and Ops/Scoundrels (who get an opener) being the hardest for me to tackle. I've even pulled some 1v2's off, which is pretty fantastic because I know I'm not that good. Generally, I find the ranged classes to be easiest because they're so busy trying to keep me out of melee range that they crumble. What kind of suggestions do you have that might improve the situation while maintaining balance? Because I'm pleased as punch with my Vengeance Juggernaut. Would be interesting to see if your dmg differs much from mine.
ARockLobzta
I don't know what half these people are talking about...but I am having no problems playing vengeance. I was already destroying pre patch 1.2...now I am face rolling most of the time. I easily pull 300k+ and 10 medals in a WZ now...yes medals are easier to get now...but I was still getting that pre 1.2 Saber Throw - Force Leap - Use the stagger to get off your ravage and use that extra 10% damage from your 4 set bonus - impale - force scream - shatter - smash rinse and repeat (most of the time) With Unstoppable and the extra second of immobile from stagger...you should have no problems getting off a full ravage. If Rampage procs, you want to force push - leap - and ravage again Edited April 13, 2012 by ARockLobzta
Slipzman
I was not really looking for gameplay tips, I was rather looking for a mental way to cope with this. The issues in pvp is not single classes being op or not but rather the entire flow and gameplay is too diffrent for me. Feels abit like a communist wz where noone is allowed to stick out becaus of personal skill, Atleast not more than a certain degree.
VoidJustice
Vigilance/Vengance requires alot of skill, tactics, patience and knowledge. Focus/Rage requires... umnn... SWEEEEEEEP lollolololololol Not going to be an easy transision but, if the OP is as skilled as he says, you'll get the hang of it... keep learning, keep working on it. Make sure your in Soresu and Guarding btw... Shien is actually far more situational and super underwhelming once you get the hang of managing focus in Soresu. btw... pwn'ing in full Vigilance w Champion Gear in 1.2. as a completely out numbered Pub in Pugs against BM imperial PREMADES. Making like a BM piece a night so far, could do so even if I lose most... which is really not what's happening lol. Of course our server's PUGs are more like pre-mades as there's only 20ish of us live on the Republic side so we all know how to work together really well. Dasgruberg
Ive been rage all the way up til 1.2 when i saw the reworked talents, and i gotta say i havent had this much fun in a warzone in ages. Im a valor 72 full BM equipped (exept i use a matrix cube instead of crit/surge relic) I also swapped to the champ operative enhancements with surge/power on 3 pieces. I have 100% melee accuracy, 29% melee crit 33% force crit, and around 860 weap dmg. 1063 expertise. oh and 77% surge. Saber throw -> Shatter -> chilling scream -> ravage (2 fast ticks) -> impale -> another ravage (2 ticks) if im lucky if not force scream -> new and improved viscious throw usually with 1-5 stacks of pooled hatred = win. If im ever starved my priority is ravage (loove the new ravage dmg) then smash if i have to wich can crit around 2,5-3k. Also using Enrage defense tactically is good My spec (bit of a vengeance noob so any constructive critisism is welcome ) http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#1010MZfMRoruddGRZrM.1 I got tired of being a smashbunny. And <3 vengance Edited April 13, 2012 by Dasgruberg
