DarthVitrial
This is known and currently we have no 'legal' way to intercept the patching process. If you just read the whole post (or the readme file) of SWTOR Unleashed you see I made a paragraph for it what happens if you patch with an active setup. It is also written you can just ignore the repair process (as nothing is broken!) and launch retail to patch. Sorry, I must have missed that paragraph. Growlernz
I have tried this, ram disk gets created fine, but instead of launching SWTOR it launches Need for Speed.... What can I do to fix this, will manually launching the game after the ramdisk is created still work? using 2.9.4496 Edited April 28, 2012 by Growlernz

exca
Here is SWTOR Unleashed 2.9.5 : http://dl.free.fr/awmudcLam It's possibly the last version I'm sending you before I push you another one with the GUI made by my designers friends. A few things changed that you can see : - the selected assets will appear first when you go back in the settings - you can save even without selecting anything (so you can change the game folder and save for example) 99% of the other changes are things you can't see (architecture has gone to MVVM pattern, making views holding 0 code). Here's a preview of an alpha version of the upcoming GUI (final will be a little different) : http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg696/scaled.php?server=696&filename=swtorunleashedguiprevie.png&res=landing Cheers Edited April 29, 2012 by exca

SergeAyotte
HUmmm, Noticed you packaged the Ram Disk software also with the Unleashed... Should we remove the "older" version of imdisk, or unzip only the Unleashed related files? Ocmer_
I'm following the same steps as the poster above with the same results. The games doesnt launch. *edit* Nevermind. I figured out you had to actually start up the game after you ran swtor unleashed. oops Hi I tried installing this and it seems to work up until I click on the "swtor unleashed" button. Hmm both your logs indicate that there was no error finding in right installpath and no errors in executing it. For gpthree it tried to start the launcher.exe in [C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Star Wars - The Old Republic\] For cdyerkes it tried to start the launcher.exe in [C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic] So I actually see no reason atm why it doesn't launch the launcher if the paths are good. I have tried this, ram disk gets created fine, but instead of launching SWTOR it launches Need for Speed.... What can I do to fix this, will manually launching the game after the ramdisk is created still work? using 2.9.4496 Well this is strange, it should check the given installpath and then start launcher.exe directly from the given installpath, so why it would start NFS is beyond me atm. Well you can manually start the game after pressing 'Start Unleashed', but make sure the ramdisk (and ramdisk content) is created. Thanks for the feedback all. exca
We'll add a line of log to specify which exe is launched.
cump
Just Installed, and took it for a test spin. Thank you all for your hard work!! Athalon x2 64 5000+ M2N-SLI Win7 64bit 8g Ram GTX 550TI I have been quietly, some days, suffering through my FPS issues. PVE played well enough, with an occasional hiccup here and there. PVP was a different beast altogether. Normal PVE Framerates 30-50. Normal PVP Framerates 5-15. I am happy....ELATED to report that I now have a nice solid 20fps in WZ's. May not seem like much, but compared to what I have been dealing with, it's a beautiful thing. No more slideshows in Alderan!!! Level 77 Valor rank, one slide at a time... I don't suggest it. Again... Great work. :) Now I can put off that I5-2500k purchase another couple months !! Edited May 1, 2012 by cump
exca
Version 3.0 (with the new UI) is coming quite soon, the "need for speed" issue should be fixed too. I don't release it as 2.9.6 because I'm lazy, sorry, you'll have to wait a little more.
cilbery
i have been following this thread, but haven't tried it myself yet. i was just wondering how effective it would be to make the files on a flash drive instead of a ram drive. then you wouldn't have to worry about remaking the ram drive every time you reboot. i realize you have made a program that automates the process, but i'd rather not run any extra programs if i can help it. i'm not saying your program is malicious, just me being stubborn. anywho, i think i will try it with a flash drive when i get home from work. i know it won't be as fast as a ram drive, but it has to be better than my old timey magnetic platter hd. Someone already asked this, and I've placed my toughts about it in this post. Well you can test it out the manual way or use the batchscripts and change the ramdrive letter to the flashdrive (this has to be always consistent then) and let the batchscript skip imdisk ramdisk creation (sidenote batchscrip will assume the given drive is empty at setup and mount). Further Imdisk has a very small memory useage and idling (without a ramdisk created) it uses 1.5MB ram and no active processes. When it mounts a ramdisk the taken memory (=size of ramdisk) will be shown as part of 'system' (in resource monitor). Dimedius
Thank you, I delayed trying to test this out thinking I only had 4gb ram. Was re reading some of these posts and thought I could try it at 4gb of ram but for some reason I lifted an extra finger to double check my ram amount. 6gb! yay So I install everything stock settings and bam 20-30 fps increase, again thank you my machine feels less like crap.
