TONZ Posted April 3, 2012 Share Posted April 3, 2012 Just started a BH and was wondering, is there a build for the Mercenary than can mini-tank in PvE? If not I'll do a powertech build as a tank. MagnisLupus Posted April 3, 2012 Share Posted April 3, 2012 It depends, merc can act as an off tank for all class and side quest content, and most heroics, but for flashpoints and raids you will want an actual tank. Despite your heavy armor you are actually pretty squishy, even when compared to your friend the sorc, chances are a sorc will soak up more damage than a merc can, but with dedicated heals, you can tank a little...... just keep it reasonable. Gorlough Posted April 4, 2012 Share Posted April 4, 2012 Actually the Arsenal spec is quite good for off-tanking.I've been tanking almost every 4-man heroics while leveling (with a sorc on my side). aswell as I can tank some of the bosses in operations for a while (Soa even quite long).It's just important that you move out of cleaves, ground AoE, use your def CDs wisely and be able to kite.
