Scopian Posted March 28, 2012 Share Posted March 28, 2012 I'm primarily a PvP player and usually don't raid (I have yet to do a single raid in any MMO that didn't bore the **** out of me). I have a level 18 Vanguard Assault Specialist and it is amazingly fast at downing mobs in PvE content almost to the point of feeling OP. Despite this I feel like I'm either missing something or my toon is completely lacking when it comes to PvP. In 1v1 situations like guarding nodes I'm very lucky to barely scrape out of a fight. If there are any Juggs on the other team I get beat down pretty fast/hard. Sorc (assassins?) seem to give me the least amount of problems and if I can catch them out of stealth or detect them I can take them down more often than not. I can usually do fairly well on my Shadow and will score gold about 90% of the time and its been that way since level 17 (the toon is now level 28). I prefer the playstyle (and story) of the VAS much more, but PvP is like a punch in the gut more often than not. Does Vanguard Assault Specialist get better with more levels in PvP? BobaFaceroll Posted March 29, 2012 Share Posted March 29, 2012 (edited) Yes, it does. Give it a little time. You will start to feel a lot better once you hit a higher level. You don't have the traits yet that let HIB reset your Plasma Cell effect + refund ammo, and you don't have the trait that lets you reset HIB with two of your regularly used skills. That adds a ton of punch to the class...it makes a huge difference in how it feels in PvP. You will get more inherent class skills too. BobaFaceroll Posted March 29, 2012 Share Posted March 29, 2012 Yes, there's a rather big difference. Vanguard is better at Assault, you're more mobile and a couple of the traits are better.
