Interesting class! Definitely a late bloomer.

Contrasting my mara to my tanksin and my pt, it's pretty striking how late in the game maras get their key abilities.

 

Our big damage dealers and finishers are at level 40 (31 pt talent annihilate) and 46 (vicious throw).

 

I actually liked this while leveling, as there was always something to look forward to. In contrast the pt has the bulk of their pvp rotation available once they get their 20 point talent, and their last interesting class ability comes at 22 (grapple). Nothing really changes drastically after that.

 

Contrast that against late-game abilities that maras get, each one hugely impacting pvp:

 

Undying rage (5 seconds of near immunity) - level 38

Awesome 31 point talent (pt's 31 point talents are meh except for td which is just a damage-boosted version of an ability you already had) - level 40

Intimidating Roar (AOE stun) - level 42

Bloodthirst (+15% damage and healing) - level 44

Vicious Throw (finisher) - level 46

Frenzy (generate 30 stacks of fury) - level 50

 

Basically from the late 30's up, there's nothing that isn't interesting! Almost the reverse of powertech. This class rewards those who slog through the early levels bigtime.
