Diplomat and imperial escort

Got an idea for 2 new classes. As the title says, diplomat (republic) and imperial escort or envoy (imperial).

These 2 should be an only buffer class, with maybe some very light dps, sort of like the bard in Rift. Skills could be both buffing and also debuffing the enemy. Don't have a good idea for their second spec, but maybe you can help. Was thinking maybe in the line of mastercrafters so far, but not sure if it would work out.

Please say what you think of this :)

Add some heavy crowd control. Maybe a little healing. Also, buffs and debuffs could be tactically based, similar to the Captain from LOTRO.

Flesh it out. Tell me about advanced classes, companions, and gear.

Here goes..

AC:

This is the hard one imo. As I already said, mastercrafter, and maybe spaceship crafter in the future, if such will be implemented. (Spaceship craft should be supervised by something else than a fighter class imo). Other spec should be pure buffer. Also maybe a warlock type of diplomat, but with droids instead (Don't know how well that will work with companions already in game. Mulitple droids might change that, but could be a heavy load on the server).

Equipment:

One blaster and some sort of focus. Light armor, with presence (to buff your companion, because he/she will need to be sort of outstanding due to main character's low damage and health) + cunning or will (maybe cunning for imperial and will for republic).

Companions:

Well.. a diplomat/envoy will need fighters to level up. Tanks would be useful, maybe even dps classes to speed up levelling when possible. Other than that mostly droids, to do their bidding. Or as stated, even fight for them.

Skills:

Master crafter (spaceship crafter): The ability to get more crafting skills, and if guilld spaceships ever arrives in the game, the only class able to oversee such build projects.

Buffer: Buffs for everyone. The way it worked in Rift was great imo (Having to keep a rotation to keep up the buffs).

Droid master: A lot of command skills for their droids, and throw in some buffs for them. Will maybe require some UI changes, but ought to be possible. Dunno how the game will handle multiple companions tho.

And also..

Storyline:

This one I find really interesting. Many of your missions could evolve around accting as a diplomat. Settling feuds, prospecting for new allies in the outer rim, be the person to declare war on a foreign planet (Yes, you actually have to go to the planet to do it. Can only imagine what impact you can have on the outcome of it :D), doing deals with the hutts, etc. And where I think it could really shine, use of your knowledge of Star Wars lore and its species, as you progress through the various conversations.

Feel free to add more if you like :)

Sounds interesting ... some ideas to add to the mix:

Second class - should have a DPS/Heal option to assist with leveling and mixing up specs. This would still be lower in theory to dedicated DPS or Healer but more balanced towards buffs/debuffs to down your foe. You could then go full support spec or where needed you can throw some DPS or Heal spells into the mix.

More creative option for a second class would be to have no DPS or Heal skills at all, but the ability to have a second companion out at once when in zones. The skill tree could have additional benefits just for companions that mix with the other buffs to give a good balance.

Buffs - should be able to do all the main 4 class buffs (be the jack of all trades for the buffs) plus have unique bonus buffs that are class specific.

This class may also benefit from some sort of stealth. Perhaps not stealth as we have with Smugglers/Agents but more a agro eliminator, so they could tackle some quests or areas without getting stomped. Diplomat should be able to find a umm 'Diplomatic' solution to issues not simply fight their way through. If they are force users they could use the 'ol Jedi mind trick' too!
