All_Under_Heaven
....Is it more beneficial to spend points directly up the Assault Specialist tree, or to first spend five points into Brutal Impact (Increaes High Impact Bolt's damage by 6%) and Focused Impact (High Impact Bolt penetrates 60% of the target's armor). Assuming of course, that Focused Impact stacks with High Friction Bolts (High Impact Bolt ignores 30% of targets armor...). Assault Specialist seems to center around using High Impact Bolt as much as possible, so I wondered if those two talents would help make leveling any smoother. I'm currently 28, so I'd be choosing them over Ionic Accelerator. Many thanks, -A
Cavadus
Get Focused Impact ASAP. Brutal Impact isn't so important right nowbut if you're building an Assault Spec around HIB you'll want to pick it up eventually. And Focused Impact does indeed stack with High Friction Bolts though I'm unsure if it stacks linearly (60% + 30%) or if that last 30% penetration is only for the 40% leftover from Focused Impact (meaning you're getting 30% extra pen for the remaining 40% of the damage which is only 12% additional penetration total). BW really needs to put in a combat log. @OP: Just like Cava said above me. Get Focused Impact ASAP, it will help a REAL lot.
All_Under_Heaven
Thanks for your input guys. Another inquiry: In this talent spec: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801hMZMcZfGMbzGhrs.1 Would I want to remove a talent point from Intimidation the Shield Specialist first-tiers to put into Blaster Augs in the Tactics second tier? -A

I would say the Critical chance is worth it. But as remarked in a different thread, it is a RNG system that is not consistant like the extra flat damage. Personally, I like crit's, so I would do it. And since it's Tech critical, it applies to most of your skills.
All_Under_Heaven
Is Assault Plastique(Kinetic Damage) considered Tech damage?
VragonBral
Is Assault Plastique(Kinetic Damage) considered Tech damage? It's considered Kinetic damage. But its a Tech skill. Kinetic damage is affected by armor reduction. So if your wondering if Burnout affects the chance it critical hits, it does. And so does Blaster Augs when running Plasma cell.
