Leatherbeak
If you marry your companion you should be able to have a playable kid (in other words just a character, not an actual child)! This could be manifested and played by brief discussions about his 'progress' on your main (like when he selects his AC) and perhaps mail or a cutscene on your legacy kid. To add to it, you could create some randomness to the apperance to blend when the kid is a cross-breed. I dont know how this would be pulled off but it would be a really interesting aspect. Again, not advocating playing a child, just the progeny or legacy of our main characters. EDITED for spelling and clarity. Glzmo
If they made your other character callable as companions for the legacy system, you could create a child character and have her or him with you... Of course, an even smaller and pre-puberty "kid" body size to go with it would be really cool, too.
Slightlycampana
They could implement a perma-death for player characters, and then let you play the kid! Or is that icky?
