Actually: Companion affection improves your crafting efficiency and crit chance. Confirmed by dev here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=2374626#post2374626 I can also confirm this statement anecdotally - my companions with high affection crit a lot more than ones with none. Omnibug Posted February 7, 2012 Author Share Posted February 7, 2012 The reason I asked my question is because I couldn't tell a difference between crafting efficiency of Qyzen, with his half-filled affection bar, and my ship droid, with zero affection.
