LodesSonic
How do I maximize my hammer shot heal? I just unlocked it and I am not really grasping how to use it effectively.
Mirdthestrill
How do I maximize my hammer shot heal? I just unlocked it and I am not really grasping how to use it effectively. It's just supposed to be your in-combat mini-heal between Medical Probes and Advanced Medical probes. It also builds charges of combat support cell. Aurinax
I believe its purpose is Ammo-conservation. Weave it in between every 1-2 Probes. I think. My Commando is a whopping level 11. I've just read some things.
RuQu
You use it as the regen portion of your cycles, just like you use it when DPSing between Full Autos and Charged Bolts. For example, at low level like you are now, Medical Probe (MP) costs 3 Ammo, and takes 2 seconds to cast. Hammer Shot is free, and is an instant ability, so it triggers the 1.5 second global cooldown (GCD). At high ammo levels, you will regen 0.6 Ammo per second. So if you cast MP/HS/HS, this rotation will cost you 3 Ammo, and take 2+1.5+1.5 = 5seconds to cast. 5*0.6=3 Ammo, so you will regen the cost of the Medical Probe in the time it takes to cast it plus 2 Hammer Shots. Later, different abilities will come into the rotation, but the purpose of Hammer Shot remains the same. Just some light free healing to put in your rotation as a spacer to allow regen. At your level, there aren't a lot of options for stats, but if you want to maximize the power of your Hammer Shots, go with Aim, Power, Crit and Surge. Alacrity has zero effect on the GCD for instant abilities, so will not benefit your Hammer Shot at all.
