bobamech Posted February 3, 2012 Share Posted February 3, 2012 I dont know who makes decisions on user experience, but whoever decided to merge server forums needs to be fired. The purpose of a server forum is so that you can build a community for players of that server. fungihoujo Posted February 3, 2012 Share Posted February 3, 2012 This could work actually- if we had an ignore function that could let us narrow it down to seeing only the threads that specifically interest us (ie- the servers you've rolled on). It'd be an easy one too- seeing as servers are by prefix. BW has limited forums to police, we have an effective server forum- everyone wins. bobamech Posted February 3, 2012 Author Share Posted February 3, 2012 I originally thought of the filter by prefix idea, but that's still a lazy way to address the original problem. From an Information and Software Architect's viewpoint, there are 2 flaws with this: 1) Your general audience is not going to care about other servers that have nothing to do with their server. So why group things together? From an information standpoint it makes no sense at all. 2) Requires front end development (which also amounts to unnecessary costs) to allow this feature. Much of these forums looks like it's a skinned vbb template, so that could entail hiring a PHP developer to come in and code those parts. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
