is my comp good enough?

i have the hp g62-340us.

 

amd athlon II P340 dual core 2.2ghz

8gb of ram

amd M880G with ati mobility radeon hd 4250

 

im running everything as low as i can in the graphics area and my game is still running super low fps. my lat is fine at like 40ms but my fps is around about 10-20.

 

any help would be greatly appreciated, i really like this game but im not even off of the starting planet yet and already im having these problems

Seems like an odd spec - the RAM seems totally off for the other items.

 

Processor wise you're sitting pretty much on the absolute minimum spec and I know my own laptop struggles significantly on a processor above the recommended spec.

 

RAM - with 8Gb you should be fine with pretty much any game currently on the market.

 

Graphics - they recommend ATI 4850 or better, and especially with the level of processor you're working with I'd wouldn't expect your card to cope particularly well even on minimum settings.

Processor:

 

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ or better

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz or better

Operating System:

Windows XP Service Pack 3 or later

RAM:

 

Windows XP: 1.5GB RAM

Windows Vista and Windows 7: 2GB RAM

Note: PCs using a built-in graphical chipset are recommended to have 2GB of RAM.

 

Star Wars: The Old Republic requires a video card that has a minimum of 256MB of on-board RAM as well as support for Shader 3.0 or better. Examples include:

 

ATI X1800 or better

nVidia 7800 or better

Intel 4100 Integrated Graphics or better

DVD-ROM drive – 8x speed or better (required for installation from physical editions only) Internet connection required to play.
