I picked the commando advanced class cause I was sure thats what I wanted to play as but now I'm not so sure. At around level 14 i was doing pretty good in pvp but now i seem to be taking way more damage than I'm giving out. I was just wondering if someone could help me out with some advice for a good dps commando. I'm new to MMORPGs and this game has alot to take in and i don't really know what I'm doing wrong. Thanx alot I would suggest leveling as Gunnery, which is okay until you get Grav Round (at 30, I think?) and then it's just amazing. As for PvP, it'll be kind of slow and you won't do a ton of damage until you get Grav Round, and once you do, you'll blow people up. If you strictly want to PvP, I would suggest going into the Assault Specialist tree (but Gunnery isn't bad for PvP either, I just don't like the lack of mobility - because you have few insta-casts and a lot of channeled/cast spells - but it's not bad, just easy to get killed if someone comes into melee range. Also, healing isn't a bad option for leveling in PvP and PvE. Though, I found it to peak around 27-29ish, and switched back to Gunnery until 50. Though, healing usually wins games in PvP and it's nice for Flashpoints, it might not be the best leveling spec for you. I would just recommend Gunnery until 50 (Which will be completely awesome once you get Grav Round). Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Jetflair Posted February 1, 2012 Share Posted February 1, 2012 (edited) Healing is safe choice. Dps is just fine against average mobs. And you can heal yourself out of bad situations in PVP and PVE. Unlike WoW I think dpsing in this game can be harder choice than tanking or healing. 21 level Combat Medic and 50 level Assault Vanguard here. I was just getting frusterated with all the dying and no killing. so for gunnery i should just put all my skill points there right ?
