I want to change from pure tank into Carolina Parakeet. The question is my gear. Being as almost all of it revolves around defense and shield chance and absorb, is it still viable to start PvP'ing competitively with until I can get my pvp gear? Just make sure you pound out the 2 dailies every day and the 2 weeklies and start grabbing up that pvp gear (don't get the supercommando set). I've seen Jedi Guardians in full quest green tank gear switch to DPS and still pull 200k+ damage while still doing objectives. As long as you play smart, you'll be alright.
