To help pop balance, I am going from a Powertech to Vanguard

Greetings,

In order to help with some population balance issues, I am taking a break from my level 50 Powertech BH and rolling up a Vanguard. Figured that since the two are mirrors of each other, the transition shouldn't be that bad. My BH is specked for Pyrotech and I am loving this DPS spec.

I was wondering if anyone knew which Vanguard skill tree was the equivalent to the BH pyrotech skill tree? If nothing else can someone help me with a build that is similar to the Pyrotech build? Thanks again for any help and I hope to see a few of you out in the field.

We're darn close enough. Our Pyrotech mirror is Assault for Vanguards, and the two (other than animation-fu) work much the same. The difference is glitches, the post above mine noting that Mortar Volley and Full Auto aren't quite performing to the same standards as the BH skills, MV having awkward timing on it's animation, and Full Auto can skip a tic of damage if you get hit entirely, even beyond pushback.

Just make sure you use a lot of Mortal Volleys and Full Autos .

As much as we would all want you to see the delay in these abilities compared to BH. The tree you are looking for is the assault specialist. The tree will be set up exactly the same, as the classes are mirrors.

one thing i've noticed being overlooked alot when mentioning the disparity between mortar volley and death from above is how the damage is portioned out.

death from above doles out six or seven rapid missiles of a moderate damage each.

mortar volley deals three slower hits iirc.

If you compare the time for the animations starts to the last tick of damage, ignoring the castbar, theyre pretty even.

but no, the classes are not exact mirrors, they do the same damage, but it's dealt a bit differently in some ways.

there are some issues with the trooper stuff, and the devs are trying to fix it.

it should sort itself soonish.

I have a lvl 30 BH and death from above knocks down mobs in PvE pretty much instantly after u use it unlike mortor where u have to wait for the first round to go off and hit the area.
