  1. HI, im a returning player, or trying to return and have not played for a good few years. I have loaded the game but when I try to log in it says server not available. I dont see any options to change server either. Any help would be appreciated. Lol - proof that i'm a returning player - just saw my old signature
  2. I've not unsubbed yet but i'm considering at the moment after barely playing the game over the last few weeks but i'll list the reasons why i've lost interest. 1. Gear Grinding: I hate it. I don't get to play for hours and hours every day so I'm always going to be behind on gear and therefore i'm always going to struggle to be competative. I was just about to start collecting battlemaster gear when they upped it to warlord. No doubt if I carry on and get to warlord it will just be in time for the next set of armour to come out. That's just not fun for me. 2. Lack of LFG: Due to the type of work I do I can't commit to being online at a certain time and be able to be around for hours at a time, so its extremley hard for me to do Operations. In fact, since launch, i've managed 1 end game Op. 3. Repetative Play: Same mob configuartions over and over again. It's very uninspiring. Daily Missions. Good god how mind numbingly dull. The same thing every day. 4. Low populations: I love pvp but 1 game an hour at times is just not good enough and then I find i'm almost always up against a warlord level premade and 1 uncompetative game an hour isnt cool. well I dont have 5 reasons actually but the above is enough. Uncompetative, occasional pvp and lack of interesting pve gameplay. I'm probably going to have a to take a pay cut in the next couple of months so the boss can keep his salary nice and high and i'll need to cut costs. With so many free to play games now I finding it hard to justify paying for a game that is becoming less and less fun with each major patch.
  3. Blitz - not even on the task bar for my vanguard, for my commando, didnt even buy the skill. Explosive surge - the only time I use this is when defending the doors on voidstar if the area is swarmed with enemy or when running low level flash point. Stealth detection - usless ability. Only use it for creating disco lights to dance under.
  4. Just work on getting teh affection up and teh storyline should progress. I think you need to be over 8,500 for the final segment of the storyline. So far i've sompleted Eric, Yuun and Elara's. Eric seems to be the only one where you actually have to go and do something.
  5. Of course, if you have more than 1 working braincell, you'll actually commit suicide long before you get enough medals to buy this gear as the dailies are the biggest pile of steaming poo in the game.
  6. If its not broke on an imperial mirror class it won't get fixed.
  7. That would be why then. Im shield spec tp 21 and assualt spec to 16 but i've not picked up ion shield.
  8. Im a vanguard so im comparing myself to other vanguards.
  9. Since 1.2 came out I've noticed that my a damage reduction is less that other peoples who have lower armour ratings than I have. Anyone know why this would be? example I have 8405 armour and damage reduction of 48.76% The vanguard I am standaing next to has 8204 armour but 50.03% damage reduction. Before 1.2 I had less armour rating but was around 52% reduction.
  10. Everyone has their likes and dislikes regarding warzones. Personally I think voidstar is the best of the four, though i'm dissapointed you dont get to play to the end now, just up to the winning stage. However, since you decided to have a whine 1 1 moment against pugs, i hope you get voidstar every time pvp pops in the future.

    a lot more fun

The point is the game is supposed to be fun for everyone. It isnt when you can mark players and focus fire them down in a few seconds. People want to play the game, not spend all their time running back to teh fighting just to die in a few seconds all over again.

    PVP premade sucks

Yes premades are a bad thing for the majority of players. Unfortunately, as much as I hate them, its not fair to prevent them from playing any more than its not fair to prevent new players from playing because you have a cob on over the colour of their gear. Rated warzones might actually be a good thing as its most likely the premades will go and ruin that whilst ougs and gain experience and have a laugh in the less serious warzones. Pugs that do rated then only have themselves to blame if they run up against a premade. Its a shame biofail didnt build a voice comms system in to the game. It would help eliminate a lot of the premade issues.
  13. When I leveled my Vanguard there was one mission, i forget what it was, that drove me nuts. You had to run back and forth and the mobs were spaced just a few steps apart and consisted of (group a) 3 normals, (group b) 1 normal 1 strong, and the ran a, b, a, b, a, b, a, b and so on. You would complete the mission, and they would all be alive again, so you had to ab your way down the corrider, hand in the mission, get a new one, too go back down the same friggin corridior, and so on. For some reason I didnt have that on my commando so i cant even recall what planet it was on. I think it was belsavis but not sure. Anyway. Almost made me quit the game it was so mind numbingly tedious and boring. Even worse than all teh rudging back and forth to general garaza, but then, her arse is so big if she moved their would be a shift in gravity.
  14. It depends on a few things but the safe bet is to use Elara regardless of level and what advanced class you take. I found as a vanguard if you dont use Elara you will struggle in the higher levels, especially against strongs, and even with elara you can struggle against several strongs at once because as a vanguard you just dont do the damage you need to take things down fast. As a commando I found Jorgen was a lot of fun and could deal with most things, but then I stayed 4 levels ahead of the planet I was on so always had an advantage. Still used elara for heroics and champions. Yuun is pretty cool as well but you get him so late in the game its not an issue. Vik is useful if you a commando but no so much as a vanguard. Castlemain is pretty horrible because hes so hard to gear up properly.
  15. Taugrims guide is pre 1.2. Things have changed. 3k stock strikes happen once in a blue moon. (que all the uberl33ts claiming they do it all the time and more...) and survivability has gone out of the window with the massive increase in gear stats. Shields are practically useless because of the type of damage the enemy does and defense has wrecked in favour of absorbtion, which is usless because its part of the shield process.
  16. There is no rotation for classes in this game. You dont stand in one place and pres 1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3 like you do in wow. You need to be using your abilities in reaction to what the enemy is doing. And yes, you should be using Full Auto.
  17. You could look at the class listsing on torhead.com
  18. I've found the whole story and atmosphere of the game a huge let down. There is no feeling of a brewing conflict, and later on, an actual conflict between the two sides. The Empire doesnt feel like an enemy - just an obstacle to work through. Biofail really got it all wrong when it came to the story telling, which given their other games success, is a real shame. I wasn't expecting Mass Effect level interaction and intensity but the overall feel of this game (in terms of Empire v republic and in class storylines) is very weak.
  19. I've been leveling up a bounty hunter (mercenary) and noticed that so far, not once, not even in heroic area fighting several elites at once, or in prolonged pvp battles, have I had to use the vent option or stop using abilities through over heating, yet in comparison, on both and vanguard and a commando, I run out of ammunition often, even when paying close attention to its levels. So biofail - why this difference? just another example of imperial favouritism? It's getting a little tedious creating imperal alts and finding that they are better than their republic counter parts. Better animations, better timings, now better game mechanics? not cool biofail, not cool at all.
  20. Not having any problems with it that I didn't have before the patch. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt (exluding resolve bar) and when it does work it rarely pulls people to where it should do, often with them landing inside me or behind me, which is really annoying when trying pull people into pits or off of ledges. It's dispointing that biofail didnt bother to take these problems on board and fix them.
  21. Biofail are idiots. 10% damage reduction was never going to stop people spamming an ability where the primary benefits were buffs not damage. They should have reduced the buffs not the damage if they wanted better rotation, or shifted some of the buffs to other abilities.

    Tanks? Really?!?!

Anyone, hang on i'll say it again, ANYONE, should be able to kill anyone else one on one. Thats balance. Thats what game designers should be looking for, a class system that is balanced and competative, not one that is purely rock paper scissors. Also, Tanks are awful right now. Their survivability has gone out the window. Try running the ball in huttball. Stun lock and death in 5 seconds. We are taking 4 and 5K crits in full battle master gear and the guys still in centurion and champion are taking 7K hits. ON A TANK. Not cool. Damage? roflmao. I'm seeing SINGLE FIGURE damage on some attacks at the moment. Try getting through a bubble? yeah ok, use up all your heavy abilities just to get a few hundred damage points, and against a healer. They dont just roflstomp you, they go off and make a cup off tea and an egg sandwich whilst your trying to get past the absorn absorb absorb.
  23. Err no, empire tanks were op. Chaos tanks were broken and nerfed in comparison.
  24. Thats it makes you a bioware developer?
