Marauder secondary weapon damage hard capped?

level 50, 90% champion gear and interchanging weapons (with damage from 400 to 450) on either/or both hands and raising and lowering strength/power through removing gear...

It appears that the secondary damage for our off hand lightsaber is hard capped at 299. This includes the carnage tier 1 box to increase our off hand light saber damage (3 points invested).

Curious... is this intended?

Anyone else exceed 299?

Does it seem, well weak?

Factoring in;

accuracy of primary saber special attack 100%

accuracy of secondary saber special attack 70%

without enemy defenses

targeting equal level enemies,

damage reduction of off-hand light saber max is 66%

We are doing 40% (???) extra damage compared to any class using a single weapon.

But if these stats are correct, and lightsaber damage is in fact hard capped at a % lower than 66%, we are spending skill points for nothing and reducing damage out put.

Anyone want to help correct these rough figures?

the main problem with the offhand is it doesnt use your strength at all to affect its damage.

so the weapons damage will always be 33% the damage of your main hand minus the strength bonus.

you can spec to make it 66% of that but its still not really 66% of the damage of your main hand because of the lack of strength damage.

it essentially makes the off hand more for show than for function. its pretty lame imo.

Str should affect a marauders off hand weapon. not 100% but it should follow suit with the spec in carnage for dual wield mastery.

with 3 points in the talent you should be getting 66% of your str to your off hand so the offhand is really 66% of the damage of your mainhand like its advertised in the talent trees

Hah you go through all this trouble instead of simply hovering your mouse over offhand dmg and find out, in a second, that the damage only scales with weapon damage and if you have dual wield mastery skilled or not.

Although I would suport the idea from a PoV concerning diversification you have to understand, that they cannot simply give us 30% upwards more dps on a whim.

I would still love to see marauders that go for offhand dmg and other that e.g. don't with similar results.

Im going to be honest, any fighting style developed to use 2 weapons doesnt try nd rely more on one than the other (wing chun and its butterfly knives for example) you may do different things with them granted, but the attack damage of your off hand should match your main, if this means lowering main hand damage to suit then they should do it. Otherwise the other saber is nothing better than a stat stick... which considering every class has one is a lame way of going about it.
