Who does bring the force into balance usly end up in it witching sides completely.

The Jedi always trying to turn the sith extinct

The sith always trying to turn everything extinct

Balance in the force would mean the coexistance of the light and dark force giving perfect balance in the universe.

I love SW but its just another system where extreamists seem to be leading the way.

Because neither the Jedi nor the Sith actually want the Force to be brought into balance. Balance is eveness. Both sides want their side to be the only side.

Much as I hate to bring them up, the prequel trilogies discuss this. Anakin isn't liked by the Jedi because he's the one who's going to bring the Force into balance. I don't recall exactly (I've seen the movies once) but someone questions why this is bad and the Jedi reply because now they are the dominant faction.

Another example is the DragonLance novels. In Dragons of Spring Dawning, Tanis is asking Fizban/Paladine why the world needs balance between good and evil. Fizban/Paladine replies that either extremity is bad - that right before the Cataclysm, the world was heavily weighted on the side of good.

That's untrue. The Jedi accept dark side concepts. They don't try to eradicate the dark side. The dark side will exist even without the Sith. There's other Dark Side religions than Sith. The Jedi don't strive to turn the galaxy "Light." The Jedi understand things like pain, suffering, disease, death, anger, and hatred are things that are natural. They use only the light side of the force but they follow the force as a whole. Yoda practically tells Anakin if his mother is meant to die. Just let her go. Accept it and don't mourn for her. Cherish the moments he had with her.

Without the Sith there will still be wars. The dark side will continue to exist. There are other Dark Side religions the Jedi don't mess with. The Jedi do not use the light as a tool nor the force. They are SERVANTS of the Force. If it's the "will" of the force not to get involved. They simply won't get involved. Even if it means many people dying. If that's what's meant to happen. That's what's meant to happen.

The Sith are the ones that unbalance the force. They strive to plunge the entire galaxy into darkness and destroy the Light side of the force entirely. This is why they need to be destroyed. This is why balance is the eradication of the Sith.

Original poster re-read what you've stated and you'll see why it's the Sith that throw the force out of balance.

Jedi = Want to defeat the Sith.

Sith = Want to destroy EVERYTHING

See the problem?

The Sith, quite literally, unbalanced the Force during the lead up to the Clone Wars. This is outlined in the new Plagueis novel. In fact, it is this shift which causes the Force itself to react and set about the events which would balance it. Simply put, the destruction of the Banite Sith was a necessity.

Beyond this, there's a general misconception in how you look at the conflict between Jedi and Sith. Namely, the Jedi serve the Force. Not the Light Side but the whole thing. The Dark Side is an equally necessary entity as the Light Side because they are part and parcel of a singular entity. The Jedi know this. The issue at hand (beyond the more obvious fact that Sith, throughout history, have tended to murder, conquer, raze, and otherwise kark things up in a general sense) is that their existence and their effect on the Dark side literally threw of natural state of affairs, cosmologically.

Only problem I see is why the Jedi had to begin this whole mess in the first place...

They also don't accept Dark side concepts. They reject them. Hell, the entire code is basically about rejecting the concepts that lead to the Dark side.

Incorrect. George Lucas has explicitly stated that balance of the Force means the extinction of the Sith.

Pretty much this.

'Balance of the Force' was never about the number of Jedi vs number of Sith.

Anakin brought balance to the force by destroying the Sith.

Balance in the force would mean the coexistance of the light and dark force giving perfect balance in the universe.

This is a common misconception which George Lucas has been to some trouble to clarify.

Dark Side is abuse of the force. It is parasitic, like a cancer, and in and of itself only exists as an imbalance.

In its natural state, the Force is symbiotic rather than parasitic. Anakin brought balance to the force by bringing the Sith to an end. It was not a matter of an equal balance of Light Side and Dark Side.

This is in terms of the films, which are A-Canon, and from the mouth of George Lucas, who invented the Force and knows what he meant by it.
