KBSIP Posted January 17, 2012 Share Posted January 17, 2012 I'm not positive, but from what I've heard shield only pops against White Damage (abilities enemies use based on weapon damage such as unload/rapid fire). This makes shields useful against some classes and utterly useless against others (casters chew through health like no other cause they aren't white damage and thus get through unshielded) Still, armor is always useful, Endurance can be the difference between life and death especially when you're the carrier on huttball (you paired with a guarded ops = your team winning) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
AnubisXy Posted January 18, 2012 Share Posted January 18, 2012 Right now, Shields don't work against 95% of other player's abilities; any ability that is considered "Force" or "Tech" bypasses shields. Each class has their "basic" attack (like Rapid Shots) and maybe 1 other ability that aren't classified as a Force or Tech ability. Since the Powertech is designed around using their shields to block incomming damage, this makes your defences pretty much worthless in PvP. Maybe this will change someday.
