Aisar
CTD and BSOD issues have existed in this game since as far back as I can remember (August 2011). I have three different computers that I play on and I have experienced CTD and BSOD problems on all of them. THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM WITH MY MACHINE(S) This is a problem with SWTOR. It has been documented in many threads and responded to by the development team in many of the following: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=1501998#edit1501998 No Error Crash to Desktop http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=141838 Client crashes to desktop from loading screen http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=121286 Constant crash to desktop http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=102705 Crash to Desktop/Freezing/Locked up, Unable to play. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=90353 Play for 5 minutes, Crash to Desktop http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=155893 Crash to Desktop Issues http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=102471 SWTOR Crash: Blue Screen of Death! http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=94747 Blue Screen errors related to SWTOR? http://www.swtor.com/fr/community/showthread.php?t=66568 Blue Screen - Stop: 0x00000101 Error http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=71873 Black Screen (BSOD) with Error code 9000 and 2005. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=101984&page=4 I'm not sure if this problem is isolated to particular "worlds" or "zones" or what-have-you but I seem to come across problems on Taris (Imperial) and lately Belsavis. This issue is well documented here on the forums as well. *** I DO NOT HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE DIFFICULTY OF THE GAME *** I DO NOT HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE SEVERITY OF THE CURRENT DEATH PENALTY However, please completely remove or severely reduce death penalties until you get this worked out or corrected in some reasonable way. I am the most fanboi of fanbois (I have two very visible KOTOR tattoos) but the combination of BSOD/DEATH PENALTY is really painful. Thanks in advance... Does this thread not make sense to anyone else? I crashed a couple times in Beta but not one single time I can remember so far in post launch. Also why remove death penalties? thread make no sense ^^

You are quoting my OP where I list 11 other threads of people having constant BSOD and CTD problems. Just because this isn't happening to you doesn't mean it's not a problem with the game. https://www.google.com/search?q=SWTOR+CTD+BSOD&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a#hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&hs=Rlz&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&q=+site:swtor.com+SWTOR+CTD+BSOD&sa=X&ei=oG4ST63zDYjbtwfux4W2CQ&ved=0CC8QrQIwAA&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.,cf.osb&fp=86d17c3ff7210107&biw=1196&bih=751 ^^^ Returns over 4,000 hits. Just from SWTOR.com alone. So yeah... it's a problem that people are having. Yes, because they have the same faulty hardware or drivers that you are. Even assuming those 4000 people are different people (which they aren't because you alone haven generated something like 50 hits for that search with this thread, 4000 people with faulty hardware or drivers is hardly surprisingly given a sample size of over one million. I've linked the tools and methods used to tell you EXACTLY which driver caused the bluescreen error (so you can link it to a driver release or piece of hardware) so why don't you go do that and quit bothering us. It's almost like you have more interest in trying to make the game look bad than fixing your problem. Edited January 15, 2012 by Heliotic

Also why remove death penalties? thread make no sense ^^ oh it makes sense just that the issue is not with the game but with his rig. Dcing to Desktop coudl be the game but the blue screens and black screens ( especially the black screen) sounds more like a bios issue to me. Hell the Dev responses that he linked seems to support that the issue is with his machine Edited January 15, 2012 by Baaddare

imtrick
Allow me to attempt to shed light on this, much like others have done as well. BSOD are mostly caused by Driver or Hardware issues. if EVERYONE was getting the issue, then you could blame SWTOR. if a MAJORITY was getting the issue, then you could blame SWTOR. As it is neither, Driver or Hardware issues are most likely the culprit.... I'd also add "if it was possible for SWTOR to cause a blue screen, then you could consider blaming SWTOR," but I'm losing faith in our ability to get this guy to understand that. Heliotic
if EVERYONE was getting the issue, then you could blame SWTOR. if a MAJORITY was getting the issue, then you could blame SWTOR. No he couldn't. Applications [unless they are specifically authorised to run in ring 0, and just clicking 'yes' to run as admin isn't good enough] can NEVER trigger a blue screen of death. Sai-to
No, this is a ridiculous thread, sorry to say OP. The BSOD is a problem with your hardware/configuration. Furthermore, it's fairly isolated cases... a very small number of the population are having the problem. There is no reason for BW to make changes to the game based on an insignificant minority of players. As it is, the death penalty is probably the least punishing of EVERY MMO on the market. If they reduced it even more, they may as well just remove the death penalty... which is not a good idea. I'm sorry you're having issues, but there is no reason for them to change death penalties for you.
Huatar
gear repairs and the timer to revive, not much of a penalty but still costs credits ... You think this is a problem? Try and play EVE. You'll then appreciate what you have here in SWTOR.
