Current LFG Tool

I realize the current tool in-game is not the ideal tool for finding groups but I used it fairly effectively last night in finding members for a group. From anywhere on your server you can go into the WHO listing and in the search field type: LFG This will show a listing of everyone on the server who has set up or selected the LFG button and hopefully they have entered a comment. I confirmed last night that you can do this from anywhere in the game.

So I am making a plea for those looking for a group, click the button, add a comment or try looking for folks that way.

Hopefully a LFG tool is in Bioware's plans in future patches/releases. /crosses fingers

This has been a problem in almost every MMO i've played in the last 15 years. I also think the tool works well, but have no idea why people can't use the darn thing. For some reason they would much rather spam the chat channel looking for other people to lazy to set up a LFG with a comment, perhaps if there was a simple choice when setting LFG, say a drop down that allowed someone to choose LFG for HEROIC X or Heroic B and so on, it would make it easier and people would actually use it.

Yep, I agree what we have right now is not the best and there are huge threads extolling what a tool should do, I would just like to see more people using what we have for now as well.

LFG tools that are just used to bamf people to an instance are not good for community, and if they're cross-server, they're even worse. Note that I'm not saying that spamming LFG is good for community either.

I've said it before, there's other options between a LFG tool and spamming general chat- you can help forge a community that will make it easier for you to do stuff in the future, and there's lots of ways to make that possible.

On my server we're doing regular events to try and create more connections between people; on Friday evenings we get everyone we can to do Flashpoints- we have high level chars escorting low level ones through the early FPs and so forth. It's a lot of fun and people make connections, friendslist entries, new guildmates and so on.

Just copy the grouping tool in Dungeons & Dragons Online and everybody's happy.

Don't know that one personally but I have read some about it and it sounds great. I would like to see more use what is there, I know it's imperfect but it can still be useful.

Now how about an option in the Quest Log that would allow you to toggle a particular quest for LFG option? Leaving out the WOW auto group process that has everyone in arms.

Something that still allows for the /who LFG (Insert quest logic here).
