Then we can split the stack after that if we want. /agreed It took me by surprise the first time I added things to my storage to find it just dumped things in the next slot rather than with the other items I already had. The higher level I get the worse it is trying to find the right place to add items to the right stack. Minor inconvenience yes but it could easily be fixed.
