Lukakuu Posted January 6, 2012 Share Posted January 6, 2012 I've been reading the forums for a little bit now trying to see what people think is the best spec for PvP. I've been 50 for about 2 weeks now and I leveled 1-50 Shield Spec and know the ins and outs of it pretty well but once I hit 50 I wanted to hit things hard and kill everything in pvp. After many hours and many credits experimenting I've personally come to the conclusion that Assault Specialist is the best pvp spec for hitting things like a Trooper should. The burst damage is rather insane now that I have better gear and warzones are my playground. Only real fair fight for me now is a 2v1 or a fully Champion geared imp. I plan on making legit videos in the very near future, but in the meantime, check this out and see if this persuades you to ***. Spec...bc it *****. If anybody wants to know stats, gear, spec or anything else let me know. Found my niche, so don't try to convince me anything is better atm lol. For leveling I would recommend shield spec or tactics because of the additional survivability options. I personally leveled all the way to 50 shield spec, it took me a little longer to kill things but the neat thing was that I could literally kill anything on every planet minus the world boss (Elara is pretty important if you go shield). Having only heard what other people have said about tactics I could suggest that if you wanted to use any of the style companions (tank, dps, or heals)...that all depends on your play style, but tactics has a lot more "fun" talents that might make killing things easier but also make surviving a little harder. As for assault spec, I personally wouldn't suggest it for leveling unless you really enjoy using a tanking companion (4X) and the companion is well geared and maintained. This spec is a run and gun style of play and with high level talents it has tremendous potential for crazy burst damage, which is why I love it for pvp. Initially I was having trouble immediately after 50 getting used to the spec but once 4X was geared and I got better gear I started facerolling nearly everything. Keep in mind though that I am a PvPer and do not think that Assault is better than Tactics for PvE dps. With the proper rotation Tactics just has more all around dps. To sum things up for leveling... Shield Spec = longer fights but can fight anything. Tactics = Up close and personal dps with pretty strong survivablity. (most of your important attacks need you to be within 10m) Assault Specialist = Run and gun and destroy nearly everything very quick...but once you run out of ammo..run.
