Kozor
I cannot find a screenshot or anything. Does it look like Ion Pulse, only orange?

Mminas
It looks like crap, there is nothing that shows a trajectory towards your target, its animation is too long and it looks like its dealing aoe damage which it doesn't. It was actually one of the biggest disappointments of the tactics tree for me. Damage is great though.
Illinois
It does an animation similar to explosive surge, ie an explosion centered around you, but the actual bolt is delayed a bit. It seems to hit right around the time of your next gcd. Its a very good skill for timing burst.
BronzeD
for those who didn't know, enemies often use the fire pulse animation... if u see any soldier type enemy NPC fires some sort of fire shockwave blast around them... that's fire pulse animation which is indeed very similar to explosive surge. visually it's quite dissapointing, nothing at all like the vanguard shield spec energy blast (which has a sync kill animation tied to it), in fact most vanguard abilities overall are visually dissapointing... and i seriously think i should've just rolled a commando instead to satisfy my blaster action crave. but damage wise it's excellent, because despite it's cooldown timer it only cost a single ammo point and does decent elemental damage, that and it gives free stockstrike with the tree spec.
