It's the kiting technique that works wonders on melee types. I've managed to kill people starting on me when I'm 50% or less health just by kiting them at the 10m range. I also picked up Infrared Sensors. Those Operatives and Smugglers who open with a knockdown will kill ya outright without having determination up. So you need to spot them.
