That tweet is from January 15th of this year

So was the guy's response saying there was a tweet.

It got me at first too.

Add me to the list of people who are logged out due to inactivity but not actually logged in..

  2. I main my Scrapper Scoundrel for the flavor - RP, and stuff. I really LOVE my character.

But when the mood strikes, and I feel like a little PvP to get the adrenaline going, this is the result:

**DISCLAIMER** - At my age now with some grey in the beard, I'm an AVERAGE PvP'r at best.

The good players counter me which creates really fun encounters.

The bad players I just stomp and can play like a fiddle.

  3. You sound like a perfect fit for the Yavin VI — we're looking for like minded players the way you described yourself.

I'm just not sure how small of a guild you want to return to though. I'll be honest, the Yavin VI is a very young and upstart guild here on Star Forge — it's just a handful of us casual players at the moment. We're only Guild Level 25, but rolling.

We have members who just started playing 6 months ago, like my real life buddy. And then me, who's been here since day one of these forums opening, and on and off for the past decade. Like you said, it's like an old friend you keep coming back to.

We've mainly focused on leveling up new characters, a lot of flashpoints/heroics and some PvP when the mood strikes. Most of us play during the evenings/weekends 10PM+ EST and there's absolutely no pressure to be on or present for events as we're not even in that kind of mode where we're scheduling stuff.

Like I said, very young. Very upstart. And we're not in any hurry to grow our numbers just to grow.

We're a mix of older gamers just having fun and enjoying what this game has to offer.

We're letting things shake out once 7.0 hits, but OPS are definitely high on the list for the future. We all have multiple Light/Dark side characters and also plan to create a Dark side guild to gather all of our Scoundrels and Villainy.

If you're interested, contact Dakàn (alt-133 for that spec char) or Nebja Muenro in-game. We can talk, get you Discord info, etc.

Good luck in your travels if I don't hear from you!

    Now I'm just flexing..

  4. Interesting answers so far...

I expected as much as we all have different playstyles and theories on our beloved class.

Since I began this thread, I re-spec'd and took points out of the 'Seeping Wounds' talent.

I'm not using CS more now per se, just making sure I'm using it on more appropriate targets like ranged classes, healing Ops, etc, and good players who know how to kite.

    And of course Huttball carriers.

  5. Serious question to all you pro Marauders out there.

How much does crippling slash factor into your rotation?

Will your spec be the determining factor of how much you use it (I'm annihilation by the way)?

These days, I'm finding myself using it less and less and doing just fine.

Yes, a rupture with seeping wounds is an even less effective snare, but relying on that instead of crippling slash doesn't seem to hinder by ability to keep in range and finish someone off.

Obviously using it (CS) will never hurt, as it's another great tool in a Marauder's toolbox that they bring to a PvP fight, but it seems you're better off spending that rage on something else early in a fight...

Am I wrong in this thinking?

Maybe I missed a big topic like this early on in the history of these forums, but I don't think I've seen Marauder's snares discussed at length and how much they're really used..

I just don't ever see them inserted into someone's rotation when they write about it.

  6. Since when does damage done = skill/good player in this game?

That mentality is running rampant in this thread and clouding what it truly means to be a skilled and effective PvPer in WZ; in any PvP situation.

I've seen plenty of above average Marauders on my server who hardly crack the 300k threshold, yet contribute greatly to their team's victory.

You guys are way too obsesed with personal numbers.

Honestly, I think you're all dazed from getting slapped by all the e-peen wagging going on around here these days.

  7. Ive played a WZ....

I went afk for 5 mins, Won the match got 10k cred's, 1000 valor, 76 coms and a pat on the back....

    I did nothing..

PVP is carebear in this game.

You're clearly mixing up the meaning of "carebear" in MMOs and how it's applied to those who deserve the label.

What you did in your WZ experience was become an AFKer d***.

There's nothing carebear about that. You're just a d*** not helping his team.

  8. Sorry dude, but there will still be a gear grind in 1.2. These people will still be complaining then as well because the recruit set will not be enough. The gear gap will still exist. Your big blue will still get roflstomped by mr. monkey rolling his head on his keyboard.

Eh, not really. Everything is so easy to get now, and will only get easier.

Only really lazy players will still be wearing their blue recruit set after a few weeks.

    That's nothing.

They should go play a Korean MMO if they want to experience a real grind.

  9. But it seems lots of players see time played as hardcore/skilled, the fact they have full BM gear makes them the best. How on earth people don't get bored after a week is beyond me. I really don't understand the mindset of the people who think like that.

    It's the mindset WoW created.

None of them ever want to admit they were brainwashed by that game, but we all know it's the reason.

  10. The only reason this post is successful and not trolled are because all of the real PVPers left this game long ago. I for one just play the game sparingly but to say that real PVPers do not care about progression is a downright lie. Look at any tournament in any game and tell me that the players did not play to have the highest gear available. I know everyone wants to live in this world where we all play for fun and laughs but that is not true.

But yes keep thinking that you are amazing pvpers.....at least in this game you will be safe with that lie.

There's always this guy on every forum who has a crystal ball, knows every PvPer who's ever lived and played MMOs, and knows what games they leave and now currently play.

  11. Oh look, it's Snookie still pretending to be a PvPer and still fantasizing about a masochistic gear grind so she can feel special at the end of the day.

    ***

I run with a fairly solid PvP guild on my server as well.

We're trying to gear up our players as quickly as possible.

We want to face a challenge, not lolrofltrollscrubstopfaceroll all day long.

If there's PvP gear to attain, we'll put the effort and time into it, but none of us really enjoy any sort of grind or "progression."

We just want to PvP. And for it to be competitive.

  12. When everyone is on equal ground, those complaining because they're still losing won't have an argument. They'll have to take a long, hard look at themselves and get better.

There will be no more excuses.

    ***

    @OP

Since you brought competitive sports into this discussion, let's talk about it.

The pinnacle of whatever sport you play is to win the so called "championship", right?

Okay. And what do those champions receive? A trophy, a ring; some symbol that shows everyone else what they achieved and earned.

    • They don't get shoes that make them jump higher or run faster.
    • They don't receive shoulder pads that increases their arm strength so they can throw farther.
    • They don't receive a bat that let's them hit farther.
    • They don't receive a tennis racket that lets them score an ace every serve.
    • They don't receive a stick that increases their slap shot power.
    • They don't receive a bowling ball that nets them a strike every frame.
    • They don't receive a club that increases their drives or hole-in-one chances.

    Shall I keep going?

Gear stat disparities in PvP are no good and never work.

Gear progression and stat gains belong in the PvE world.

Cosmetics, aesthetics, titles, and ranks are just fine for PvP.

If you're after some carrot in PvP, you're not really a PvPer, just a PvEer disguised as one.

  13. Everytime i see a post like this, all I hear in my head is "Wahh i want evrything for free i want it NOW NOW NOW Mommy. Timmy has better toys than me!"

That's the best you can come up with after some really well thought out posts/arguments by others?

You have now officially lost this argument and thread.

  14. Like trying to learn to pilot Jets in BF3 when all other Jet Pilots have heat seeking missiles and you got a forward mounted machine gun?

Also WoW has rating locked gear, they practically pioneered the system. They are the kings of rating locked elite gear.

And Blizzard has admitted that adding arenas was the worst decision they ever made.

    So what's your point?

  15. Darth_Sookie and all her shill friends QQ are nothing but fake PvPers, afflicted with a PvE grind fantasy mentality; a diseased mind brought on by too many hours spent with EQ/WoW.

Not once, in any of your QQ threads and QQ posts Darth, have I heard you talk about wanting actual competitive, skill based PvP.

You talk about ranked warzones, but all I hear is "progression", "incentives", and "gear."

When are we going to actually talk about the PvP? You know, the competitive battles; the challenging fights against other skilled players?

Why is it always about shiny loot, titles, and other carrots-on-sticks?

IMHO, the diseased mind of PvEers and their obsession with progression and gear, has carried over to and ruined competitive PvP in MMOs.

It's no longer about the fight. It's 'what do I get afterwards?' that only seems to matter.

  16. This guide was pretty useless to me.

I hit 50 with my marauder last Saturday 2/25.

I had 6 champ bags waiting to be opened.

In just over 3 days (after completing the weeklies twice each and every daily since, along with lots more WZ to save up merc/wz comms for more champ bags, I was able to fully gear myself in cent pieces and a few champ pieces.

Today, a little over a week later, I have a few more champ pieces (both sabers and relics) with exactly 600 expertise.

Gearing yourself up for PvP in this game is very, very, very easy.

  17. It's funny that healers think by removing marks they're all of a sudden going to be invisible to everyone.

You're the easiest class to spot in PvP!

    Why?

Because you're the only one who's not moving! You're just standing there, in the back lines, waving your little hand while you remain protected under your soap bubble.

I can spot you a mile away.

Deal with it. YOU'RE A HEALER!

    We're comin' to gitcha!
