  1. Yeah because my account getting hacked, said person cheating by accelerating the game with Cheat Engine and the account getting permanently banned is easy to get back. I tried.

What a judging jerk you are lmao. Try taking people on their word, people are generally honest.

So you got busted hacking, couldn't lie your way out of it to keep the account, and then made a new account. See, that wasn't so hard.

  2. I think Tait and Musco carry more burdens than just this community. Woods I have no idea, but perhaps she'd already decided she was leaving long before she actually did and just decided to "phone it in". Pokket, well, sorry to say Pokket was just a waste of space. If BW had actually looked at her past projects ( her youtube channel and short stint at mmorpg.com ) instead of which BW team member she was dating, they'd have seen she has absolutely no ability to organize or structure anything, neither for herself or a third party community. She couldn't even decide on one hair color from one day to the next.
  3. I've three accounts and two computers, that would really help me out really fast.

As you can see, abuse would be too easy to commit.

Everything in this game can be abused regardless of what it is. The social system is not one of the things I'd really give a flip about someone "abusing" with all things considered.

  4. The better than cross serverTM ship has sailed and hit an iceberg years ago. :(

I can't imagine setting up all the servers in a cluster to make a "megaserver" woud be too difficult. Sure, it's a dreaded "merge", but would never need to be repeated in the future as hardware can be added/taken away as needed and everyone plays together. Like ESO and EVE.

  5. Hey everyone!

We will be taking the servers offline on Tuesday, May 9th in order to perform back end updates. As there are no client-side changes, there won’t be a version number or download associated with this maintenance. SWTOR.com will also be down during this time.

    Details:

    DATE: 9 May 2017

    TIME: 5:00AM - 9:00AM PDT (1200 - 1600 GMT)

    VERSION: N/A

Thank you for your patience as we maintain Star Wars™: The Old Republic™!

Because obviously adding one or two patches for things currently affecting players since you're taking the server down for 4 hours anyway would be too much to expect, right?

  6. I, personally, am glad to see bronze items returning. We were getting new items that would have been labeled bronze under the old system before but were now labeled silver, and as such were much higher to unlock in collections. The removal of bronze items meant the removal of 60 CC unlock prices for any future content, and that didn't sit right with me. To make matters worse, all new crystals, which used to be bronze, have since been bumped to silver. Are we going to see the return of bronze crystals again as well?

Yet you'll notice they didn't return the unlock prices back to match. Probably shouldn't expect to see them do it in the future, either. They know everyone will pay 200-300 cc each to unlock low level crap now, and EAware don't give up free money.

  7. In two weeks they'll all be gone. Good thing too, EAware apparently didn't bother to think how much strain their aged hamsters would be under with everyone showing up on reduced servers. Nothing like having to hammer the space bar in flashpoints to get it to register and deal with ability delays while questing because the wheezing server can't keep up.
  8. Good job misquoting me by jamming two unrelated excerpts together to fabricate a noticably odd piece of logic. If you check the Wikipedia page for SWG you'll find that it involved Electronics Arts (Japan). If you don't know about SWG then don't talk about SWG ... the chat bubbles in SWG were excellent and are a perfect example of how beneficial they can be to an MMO's social environment.

Pretending chat bubbles are an annoyance and nothing more is a useless argument... it matters not whether YOU would like chat bubbles added to the game, it matters whether there are a significant number of players who would like chat bubbles added in order to have a better gaming experience.

If you don't like chat bubbles, don't use them once they're added. Nothing in the game will change for you, other than seeing an increase in nearby usage of "say", "emote", and "yell" in your chat console because a huge number of players are enjoying using chat bubbles.

What I see is you saying "LALALALALALA" trying to brush fact and veteran SWG opinion under the rug as I describe how amazing the Chat Bubbles were in SWG and that SWG's chat bubbles were used constantly by a majority of players. Having the speech bubble up over the player's head INSIDE the game instead of in a little chat console makes all the difference, and it provides a very rich communication medium. Chat bubbles enhance the social environment a thousand-fold.

First, you throw up a wikipedia page and want me to wade through it. IF there's something you want me to ee there, then quote it, don't just give me a page link. Wikipedia is not a "source", it's mostly fan fiction created by whoever decides to add todays' latest fallacy as "history". EA had no role in the development of SWG. Period. End of story.

Second, chat bubble are an annoyance if not made optional, navigating a screen full of bubbles is ridiculous. Of course, this game is dead enough now don't have to worry about a screen full of people anywhere, so perhaps that point is moot.

However, the engine still is, and will always be, a piece of crap and chat bubbles will now, and always will, be a resource hog simply due to that fact. EAware has been promising to "look into" chat bubbles being feasible for years now. Let.It.Go.

  9. Someone in a different thread said they fixed it on June 1st for any newly finished classes, but not retroactive until a later patch (maybe this one?). But it happened to me just last night when I didn't get credit for finishing the JK story. It would have been my 6th one, but it's still stuck at 5/8. So obviously they didn't fix it at all.

Yes, the 4.5 fix was anything but. I got the bug on my Consular 3 days ago, well after their June 1st 4.5 patch "fixed" the issue.
