After reading few pages of this thread, I'm really glad I mostly play with friends. It does make me wonder what causes this kind of behavior though, I certainly don't remember seeing it nearly as often back in the older days when I played some of the first MMO's. Few posts actually made me think if there are people who do this to their friends and guild too and bring up the same arguments when confronted about it. Surely, I can't be the only person who generally doesn't do to strangers what I wouldn't do to people I know.

My reason was simple - my guild, which includes friends I've been gaming with for almost 10 years now, went Empire. I'm quite sure this was the reason for many people. Having played 6 out of 8 starting classes during one of the beta weekends, there were stories I liked on both sides, so I wasn't dead set on playing a specific side (in case of Republic, I really liked the Trooper one).

9th September here, not in yet. I'm hoping Friday the latest, would be nice to play during the weekend.

I have to say, the main thing I'm going to remember about SWToR early access / launch / whatever, is not even the amount of complaints about not getting in, but the number of threads with people arguing whether it's a launch or not. Comedy gold!

Pro-Addon vs. Anti-Addon wars starting early, lol. From my experience the good players are ones who can and will adapt to any situation. If there will be addons, they will adapt to that, if there will be no addons, they will adapt to that as well. Adaptablity is one of many common traits of pretty much every truly exceptional player I met in 10+ years of playing MMO's.

Or, you know, they can both co-exist at the same time. I even know people who plan to play both at the same time! (the horror!)

Not all stores follow this policy, just saying. Obviously that's the store's fault then, not Bioware's or EA's.
