  1. I am RP-PvE, but I prefer /duel because: * There is no god-mode. It's either you can beat me or you cannot. * It is more compelling and fun to observe and doesn't spam the RP channels. * Text emotes are a pain to decipher and require a lot of coordination. That said, I only text emote with trusted RPers.
  2. I play on Sanctum of the Exalted myself but I have alts (both level 35) on Lord Adraas and Ebon Hawk. While I would like to see you on Sanctum, it does not answer your question. That said, my experiences have been far more positive on Ebon Hawk than Lord Adraas. In comparison, Ebon Hawk has a much more mature community and has far more daily events and open world RP outside cantina hubs.
  3. I was giving it a lot of thought and came to a conclusion. Why not make slicing a craft skill similar to how it was in SWG. I know SWG is a bad word for some in this community but her me out. In SWG a smuggler could slice weapons and add extra stats to them. The slices they did were random and affected each piece differently. So that a smuggler could slice a dropped piece of loot and randomly put a stat on it like extra damage or extra stats. SWTOR could put a new spin on it by having the slice no longer random, but an actual trained skill/recipe. A slicer can then choose a dropped weapon (or even thier own) and perform a slice on it. The slicer can overwite a slice, but never have more than one slice on the weapon. Second, rather than receive augments and just use them as mods, why not make the augment alos the raw material to perform the slice? Then they would have a choice, use the augment as a mod, or use it for the slice. Once used as a slice it is destroyed but permenantly affects the weapon. If used as a mod, it can no longer be used for a slice if it's "bound." What this does: 1. Provides a market for premium/prototype/artifact items where custom gear is more desirable. 2. Allows a way for slicers to make credits by slicing other people's weaons/armor. This can be done by performing the slice via the trade window. 3. Encourages social interaction because slicers have to meet clients face to face to perform a slice on a bound item. Any thoughts?

  5. OP I read your entire post and I disagree. I played WoW and left for a reason...it sucked. Even after years of playing and getting several toons to 85 it still sucks. I went back briefly for Cataclysm, and guess what? It still sucks. Why did I play? And why did I go back? Because there was really no MMO left to play. And why play a new crappy MMO when I can play a crappy MMO that I already have several high level characters? Make sense? Of course it does. Now that SWTOR is out, yes it's just like WoW, but guess what? It's not crappy! Sure it has bugs, all new games do. Sure it lacks the bells and whistles I need to role-play with more enjoyment, but that will be added. In the end, despite it's current shortcomings, SWTOR is not crappy. Case in point, WoW is crap, and that is why I will stick with SWTOR. P.S. - Speed Seduction does not work in forums. It requires vocal and sumliminal body language to work.
  6. 500k+ subs is not "niche" that is a successful MMO.
  7. That is a good question. Kind of a terrible oversight not to add them along with: 1. No sitting in chairs in game 2. No day/night cycles 3. No sandbox features 4. No full customization of avatars 5. No RP support on the RP servers 6. No scaled warzones for PvP 7. No Separate Surnames 8. No Chat bubbles I could go on, but it's obvious EA/BioWare neglect to listen to their community or even care about their needs.
  8. I think the patch after the disk install is less than 11 GB
  9. The game is officially 10 days old, I would re-roll. The longer you wait, the longer it will take to catch up, and the more you'll resent not doing it now.
  10. You thought wrong... most of the kiddies want to be L00k Skiwalker, D00d.
  11. This little one's not worth the effort. Come, let me get you something. -Obi Wan ANH I have something here for you. Your father wanted you to have this when you were old enough, but your uncle wouldn't allow it. - Obi Wan ANH I need your help, Luke. She needs your help. I'm getting too old for this sort of thing. - Obi Wan ANH It surrounds us and penetrates us. - Obi Wan ANH I have you now! - Darth Vader ANH The last time I felt it was in the presence of my old master. - Darth vader ANH Escape is not his plan. I must face him, alone. - Darth Vader ANH There. You see, Lord Vader, she can be reasonable. Continue with the operation... - Governor Tarkin ANH He has too much of his father in him. - Aunt Beru Take care of yourself Han. I guess that's what you're best at isn't it? - Luke ANH ...they're not much bigger than two meters. - Luke ANH What're you lookin' at? I know what I'm doin'. - Han ANH She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid. - Han ANH Great [money] shot, kid, that was one in a million! - Han ANH Okay, hit it! - Han ANH Stabilize your rear deflectors... -Gold Five ANH Loosen up! - Gold Leader ANH We're too close! - Gold Leader ANH I got a problem here. My converter's running wild. - Red Six ANH I can hold it. Gimme more room to run. - Red Six ANH You're too low, pull up! - Biggs ANH Look at the *size* of that thing! - Wedge ANH Governor Tarkin, I should have expected to find you holding Vader's leash. - Leia ANH You "came" in here, but didn't you have a plan for getting out? - Leia ANH
  12. If a guild member that is 30 levels higher than you is refusing to help, perhaps you should consider a new guild. The simplest way to get help, at least in my guild, is to simply say , "Hey I need help with X, can anyone assist me real quick?"
  13. My good friend's guild is on Rubat Crystal. In fact his guild is home to a few of the more well known SWTOR developers. I wish he and his guild were on Sanctum though.
  14. Lady Chyna and the ORCA are here. We are all on Sanctum of the Exalted US-East
  15. My entire guild spent the entire early access on Lord Adraas, got ourselves to 30ish and decided Lord Adraas was not for us. We never said that there was no open RP, just not enough to meet our current standards in a role-play server, and definitely not enough for one professing to be a "super" server. Case in point, at lease WE can speak from our own experiences. The member arguing me had not stepped foot on Sanctum to make such claims, I gaurantee it. My claims are most certainly based on facts derived form my own experience. Other player's experiences may vary. I never had a falling out with swtor-rp.com. I am still a member and supporter of the site. I will soon be a contributer and reporter for my and other servers. What they are doing is alot of good (with respect to a forum site) to bring the community together in one place. However that does not mean I have to support with the way they are advertising Lord Adraas, which is falsely and stinks of deceptive marketing tactics. Myself and others are just truthfully informing the community with the facts so that they know that they have choices and are not feeling cheated if they decide to go to another server. By not giving the community the facts, swtor-rp.com are the ones fracturing the community, not I.
  16. I am dedicated to my RP, and I am more than happy to encourage others to be the same. If your idea of a fun environment is to have wool pulled over your eyes and your choices limited, by all means, roll on a different server. I am a RP community leader and I will be damned if I will let another community bamboozle the rest of you all into thinking that only ONE server is "the" place to be to have a fun time.
  17. Well it's gonna be a long path but you need to do this: 1. Roll a Sith Warrior and go Maruder at level 10 2. Go totaly light Side as a Sith because the dark side is truly weaker. 3. Unlock the Legacy Name 4. If you did all of the above and dont PvP until you are 50 and you unlock a sweeet class/race - The Sarlaac Enforcer, which owns anyone in PvP.
  18. RP-PvP will always be a "hard sell." Most of the blame can be attributed to the "normal" PvP servers which give other "forms" of PvP a bad name, RP-PvP not withstanding. That said, RP-PvP undeservingly gets a bad name when it is presented as PvP is a "bad" word that is associated with the kinds of gameplay that is the very antheisis of RP. That is not to say that PvP cannot be RP, it can be, however, like King Naki said, it is comepletely reliant on the assertiveness of the RP-PvP community. Imo, you cannot truly have RP without PvP, however, until the RP community (RP-PvE and RP-PvP) comes together and lets development and EA understand that we will not tolerate asinine behavior, greifing, bad names and all the other trash that is associated with PvP and "normal" servers, I will choose RP-PvE. At least on that kind of server, I can just ignore a jerk, and not have to worry about them ganking me afterwards.
  19. My home is Sanctum, however, I have an alt on Vrook Lamar that I play with some old SWG friends. It's a nice server for RP and deserves some props. Enjoy your new home Arix and welcome to the RP-community. If you ever want to stop by on Sanctum of the Exalted (on the days yoru server may be down), come chat with me, Chyna on the Imperial side.
  20. I would just like to clarify a bit on Damon's comment as I was part of the super server project on swtor-rp.com. The project consisted of about 23 guilds who got together on a ventrilo channel to discuss the project. They came to a decision that they would choose the server in which the most guilds were deployed at launch. Stop... They chose the server based on the most guilds deployed involved in the project, and not the over all number of the entire community. 17 out of the 23 guilds were deployed to Lord Adraas, which solidified their choice. In essence, there was no "mass" migration of RP guilds to Lord Adraas. Only a few had to make the decision to do so. In addition, not every guild registered on swtor-rp's site (or those that were involved in the original project) partook in the super server project, literally only a handful in their own community did.
  21. And on that note, you are still falsely advertising. Unless there is an event on Lord Adraas or you want to confine yourself to a cantina, in my experience, you have to struggle to find RP in the rest of the open world. Sure you can argue, it's still a week or two old and RP will ramp up when everyone levels. However, on SoTE, I see people RPing in groups, flashpoints, operations, ...everywhere. Couple that with RP events and a OFFICIAL DEPLOYED RP population that dwarves Lord Adraas, the community has the right to know their options. In addition, the only RPers who do not care about details, are the "NON" role-players. Educated role-players most certainly do their homework before making the long term decision of a server choice. That said, I did my homework and imo, SoTE wins by a landslide. But the community does not have to take my word for it, they simply have to roll on a server experience what each server has to offer. You may enjoy where you are now, but your claims are brazen, not objective, and most certainly not based on facts.
