  1. It does matter - Because he was annoying and my character thought he deserved to die. He was a traitor. Thanks for retelling the story I just experienced. I didn't miss the story, if that's what you are implying - It just doesn't add up. And last I checked, Vitiate wasn't a Sith Pureblood, but human. He is at least in JK Chapter 2 and 3.
  2. Yeah.... After they talk themselves out of it like 10 times first. I'd killed Koth the moment I met him, If I had any control over it. But I had at least hoped I could kill him by the end of the last expansion. But nope. Then how about the first time I see him in this expansion? Nope - Gotta save the Gravestone etc etc. Except he doesn't try anything. He just takes the most illogical route, to a pretty simple goal: Get a new, strong and young body. How hard is that? Do you need to make entire new empires, and impregnate a women, and get 3 kids etc etc? No, obviously not. Zash didn't. Is Zash smarter than Valkorion? I got that part. His plan is still pretty damn stupid, if that was his goal all along. Yeah, kinda funny how she was stronger than The Outlander at one point, and then suddenly later, she wasn't. Actually, he said multiple times that "you" were NOT strong enough to defeat Vaylin after she was unleashed from his bounds. BS - Why didn't he just take Vaylin's body then? Vaylin was stronger - aka better body. But somehow, going through all of this was necessary. Or maybe, just maybe, it was bad writing. Or he could just take the soul of every living thing (like on Ziost) and get 10 times more powerful - But nah, that would make too much sense. Then why didn't he? Or put in another way: How do you beat that which cannot be beated? The answer? Bad writing.
  3. I hated KotFE, for all it's plotholes in the very first and second chapter. I predicted a ME3 BS-ending. BW had me facepalming when I learned that they actually wanted to stretch the story over a whole other expansion, potentially ruining not just one, but two expansions. Having watched the "Betrayed"-trailer and absolutely loved every single second of it, I kinda got my hopes up a little for the expansion. The pacing, music, motives, character development, face expression, scenery, and even link into the last expansion's trailer, I was REALLY impressed. It was a perfect example of "Show, don't tell". It's one of the best gaming trailers I've ever seen. You could really feel Senya's struggle, and how she was powerless versus Valkorion. How he made Vaylin a psycopath and basically made the entire family fall apart. There's even a metaphor in every single scene, for what is going on - It's brilliant! Coming into KotET, I think they did alright-ish with what the last expansion left it with. However, the plot was very non-surprising, and Vaylin (Unlike in the trailer) was just like she was in KotFE: Annoying, impossible to feel sorry for, and just 1-dimensional. She literally had zero personality. Her only personality trait seems to be: "I'm evil, so I like to kill people. It makes me happy.". As soon as she opens her mouth, I just hear a little annoying kid speak. And she only seems to have one facial expression. You know which one, I'm talking about: She talks like a deranged Sith, she looks like one, and feels like one. Why was an entire new faction made up for this story again? The Eternal Empire is effectively just "The Sith Empire 2.0"... The relationship between Senya and Vaylin as shown in the trailer, is never properly shown in the ingame story. In fact, hardly any relationship is explain properly, and it really hurts the story. Why was Thexan even in the story? He was ultimately completely pointless. On top of this, I felt annoyed that every single character always had their own agendas. Their own edge or profit, they wanted to get out of a situation. I found this unbelievable, since these things could easily, everything considered, costs the future for the galaxy. Everything is suppose to be on the line here, and you want to kill the Alliance Leader so you can take the leadership yourself? **** off! Now is not the time for power-struggles. Unnecessary and forced conflicts to prolong the expansion - No thanks. Also, why were I never allowed to kill who I wanted to, when I wanted to? I hate Koth. I want to kill him. Can I do it? NOPE. He talks himself out of any situation, because the plot says so. Scorpio? Senya? Anyone? Nope. Because they have plot-armor on, apparently. The ending was a bit better than what I feared, I'll admit. But in the grand scheme of things, did Valkorion's plan really make any sense? I mean, if he wanted a better empire, why not just merge the new and old Empire? Why even start the invasion with the Sith Empire if it was pointless anyway (You know... The original reason that this game even exist!)? The Eternal Fleet was unstoppable, nonetheless. If he really wanted "The Outlander's" body, then why did he have to let the player go through so much **** for basically nothing? Why didn't he just get the body right away, at the start of KotFE? Why not on Ziost? Why all this **** about his family? Why get them killed, when they really posed no threat? Why get killed himself? There's still so much bs that is unexplained. And it's all because of one little detail: Valkorion is ALL-POWERFUL: He can do ANYTHING. Why make over-convoluted schemes for no reason? You don't need to! Just take what you want - The End! Long story short: Valkorion and the two expansions can just be boiled down to an over-complicated and over-dramatized version of the Darth Zash's story, for the Sith Inquisitor. Only this one doesn't make much sense, and you were forced to pay BW/EA, in order to play it. I hope you think it was worth it, because I ultimately don't feel that way. In terms of an original story, we got screwed hard. The story brought nothing new to the table, so if you want to experience a story about a power-hungry Sith, who wants to live forever, I suggest you just play the Sith Inquisitor's Chapter 1, instead. This looks familiar?
  4. Apologies for another necro, but I just finished the story, and I wish I could say that I was disappointed, but that would imply that I had high hopes to begin with. I had pretty much the opposite. All the plotholes created within the 1st chapter alone was enough to make me rant for hours on end about how nothing made any sense, and how the whole story was essentially just pulled out of BioWare's behind. But despite all this, I still came back, hoping that there might be some answers to all this Valkorian nonsense, and watching the Betrayed-trailer (Which is absolutely beautiful and brilliant btw) kinda made me think that they maybe, just MAYBE, could get the story to work, by the end. But no - All we got for the entirety of the Valkorian-plot was "You are ready". ... REALLY?! That's not good enough! That's cheap! Dirty and cheap - ****** cliffhanger, too! So I have to buy another expansion to get your bs answers, from your bs story? No, piss off. The story looked rotten the moment I got into it and it was rotten throughout. Don't even get me started on the joke that you call gameplay with hallways with groups of 3 skytroopers over, and over, and over, and over, who die if you even as much as just look at them. And I'm still waiting for all the "consequences" for my choices. The gameplay is just like the story: A joke. So in case you're wondering, BioWare: No, I'm not going to buy your next expansion, or the one after it for that matter. I'm done, and you done ****ed it up. Can only say I 100% agree with everything said by OP. It's spot on.
  5. Lana, unlike what the game makes you believe, cannot be killed in chapter is it 3 or 4? So much for those "consequences" they were talking about. Also, if you picked the dark side option in chapter 2 (not to save the zakuul civilians when vaylin is right behind you), koth will leave no matter what. also hk-55 dies no matter what... because consequences and stuff...
  6. Fixed it for ya. Seriously though, there are so many bugs in this game. Like, it's insane. They are all over the place: Class missions, Alliance Recruitment, DvL achievements, OPs, FPs. Some are new. Some are over 5 years old. Some were gone, but are now back. There's no end to it. It's curious though, how EAware seems more interested in making more Cartel Packs and milking their costumers, than actually fixing their goddamn game. No wonder almost all of your servers are completely deserted: You treat the game, and your costumers, like a joke.
  7. This might come as a surprise to you, but there's more to this game than it's story, thankfully. Hence why I'm still around. Besides, chapter 1-3 is still great, and chapter 4-5 is still alright. And in case you didn't understand it properly, I didn't say BW were stupid - I said the story was. Big difference. Also, I was long gone - for 6 months. But came back to give the new chapters a chance. I think we can agree that is only fair? They are better than the previous ones (Really like 13 and 14, btw), but they can't undo the damage that has been done so far, story-wise.
  8. Did they.... Did they just make ANOTHER expansion based on this stupid story? You mean there's going to be more of this ****!? Are you serious!?? I don't even.... What's that? You don't think it's bad? How about these key-issues: - Inconsistent (Valkorian "I have no limits to my power" is a moron - why didn't he just make adjustments to the Empire? He's the EMPEROR! what DID he actually learn on Ziost? that killing people is bad? no, you don't say!) - pointless (Who asked for this? This supposedly new faction is just Sith 2.0) - glanced-over (nothing is explained probably. it's just hinted at, and then they say you'll get told later) - repetitive (hallway with 3 skytroopers dropping on top of you, anyone?) - convenient (do i even need to explain this one?) - no "show, don't tell" (everything is explained, and poorly. didn't anyone at bioware go to film school?) - inconsequential (nothing matters - literally. even if you actively try to kill your comps in cutscenes, they survive) - unbelievable (third faction **** out of EA's arsehole because.... that whole jedi vs sith-thing? no one liked that! also, you mean to tell me no one EVER discovered zakuul be accident? and how did this incompetent army take over anything, let alone the entire galaxy?) - unoriginal (balanced in the force? that's the twist? ever heard of Revan? or countless other force-users?) - forced ("outlander! you are the chosen one and we will follow you no matter what even though it doesnt make sense! what's that? valkorian, our enemy, is in your head and can hear everything we say? that doesn't matter!") - counter-productive (Chapter 1-3: POINTLESS - makeb: POINTLESS - SoR: POINTLESS) - plotholes (valkorian, the eternal empire, the eternal fleet, the gravestone. nuff said) - 1-dimensional villians - ("Im vaylin... Im evil!" "Im arcann. i sit on my throne all day and talk about how i hate everyting. im evil!") - difficulty (step 1: engage Arcann (chapter 8) with a level 1 healer comp and then go AFK. step 2: come back after 1 hour and you still have 100% hp. step 3: beat his ***. step 4: watch the game trying to convince you that he's a threat) - the ending (how can this ever end with a good ending? best case scenario you're gonna end with a ME3-like cliffhanger leading to the new expansion. you'll expect to get lots of answers, but it's just gonna be a lot of vague nonsense from valkorian that doesn't add up - SPOILER ALERT) Shall I go on?
  9. It sure is awesome to come back to the game after 7 months break, just a few weeks after this one-time exception has expired, discovering that you're stuck on a completely dead server, that was extremely populated not half a year ago. I'm really shocked over this, actually. I moved from The Progenitor to Tomb of Freedon Nadd (ToFN) 9 months ago, with my entire legacy (All my 16 max level characters) when the 90 cc sale was going on for quite a while back then. The Progenitor was completely dead when I came back to the game. So I moved, naturally - It was really cheap compared to other MMOs. Now, I come back again, only to discover the exact same situation. Only this isn't October 2015, and it isn't Progenitor. It's July 2016, and it's ToFN. I'm stuck on another server, but with the same problem: It's completely dead. With about 20 people online on the Fleet at peak hours, I feel like I'm running around on a ghost ship, or playing a single player game (Too bad it isn't Kotor 3, huh?). How am I suppose to find an active guild here now? The one I was in before transferred to The Red Eclipse. Or find people do to FPs? Just imagine the queue time to do WZs (Oh god). This wouldn't be a problem if the 90 cc transfer price was still active. However, it's not. And I feel like EAware is shooting themselves in the foot big time, if they think they can bully people into paying 1k cc for each transfer. People will either just start over fresh on another server (For free), or just say "F*** it, I won't stand for this!" and then just leave the game, as fast as they started it. I would have left, but the Dark vs Light event actually gave me a reason to replay the game from scratch. As I see it, EA won't lower the prices anyway, and I really want to enjoy this game. I'm really split about the DvL event (If you can even call it an event), but I'm really trying to be optimistic here and not just moan. So what I've done is abandon my 5 years of progression on ToFN and started completely fresh on TRE. More value for what I've already payed for, I guess you can call it. But it still sucks, and I really want to get my chars and old legacy with me to TRE, but I refuse to pay those absurd prices, and just as a principle, I refuse to support a company that won't make server merges, because it think it can squeeze more money out of it's loyal costumers with ridiculous transfer prices, artificially keeping the servers separated. It's disgusting! Dick move, EA. Dick move. But then again, you can't really make me think less than of you, than I already do. So to sum up the EU situation of English-speaking servers: The Progenitor: Dead ToFN : Dead TRE: Alive That's it. There are only those 3, and 2 of them are literally dead. What's the point of them? Anyone who is on Prog or ToFN and is coming back to the game is gonna be really disappointed or angry. Those two servers are just adding frustration. Think of the new players who are completely clueless and start playing on those servers by coincidence. This is just a spit in the face to the supporters of this game. What company treat it's fans and costumers like this? Seriously? I have played video games my entire life and I have never ever seen anything like this. Unbelievable. If I had to transfer my entire legacy of 16 chars, we're looking at something like 116€ minimum (3x 5,5k cc). This is even though I did the exact same action, for just about 15€ about 9 months ago. What is the justification of that price difference? It's the same service. This isn't because I don't want to spend money on the game. I've spend at least 300€ the last year on subs and cc, but having to pay over 115€ just to being able continue to play my original chars is just a rip off. It's robbery. And worst of all: Even if I do.... Even if I do, what guaranty do I have, that TRE won't be dead in a year? I have none. Zip. It's a huge gamble, and if this is how it turns out every time I gamble, I'm not sure I want to gamble anymore.
  10. It should return when you have a game where 90% of all servers are literally dead. I used the transfers 6 months ago to transfer from one dead server (Prog) to one that was alive (ToFN). 6 months later, I come back and now ToFN is dead, and I have to go to Rec Eclipse, which is now the only last active english speaking server in Europe. I have to pay 16k CC if I want to transfer my entire legacy, and now with the DvL event, I have to pay even more because I have to have at least 24 char slots on a single server, if I want my old legacy with the minimum 8 DvL chars. They are actively killing their own game by not putting transfer on sale. I think people would rather stop playing, than getting robbed by EA and BioWare.
  11. This whole event is idiotic and an insult to the community: I've done pretty much 95% of all the objectives already. I have spend several hundreds of hours on unlocking all that "****", and now I have to do it ALL OVER again, just for pets, titles and a few armors? PISS OFF! **** you, Bioware, and **** you, EA. How about you actually make some new content, instead of just milking the old some more? I'm surprised we don't have to be subs to even be in this event. Isn't that your new style? That you milk us, as well? Oh wait, you've done that for years, haven't you, EA? I'm already stranded with my entire legacy on a dead server with 20 players. You want to me make more chars on that server? To make a new legacy on another one and completely abandon all my years of progression? *** is this ****? Un-***********-believable... Worst company I know, EVER.
  12. I'd take that any day, over what we just had, tbh. And yes, I did read what you said. I disagree with your opinion. Companions being equal to a player in 220 gear is just... absurd...
  13. They were op as **** dude. They could nerf them by like 50% and they would still be REALLY strong. This was REALLY needed! Stop complaining about it, please.
  14. This is a moment where I'm as an european player am so happy that the maintenance times are not completely biased towards Americans. Because it would really suck if the primetime for all european players to get ruined, by simply an extended maintenance.... oh, wait...
  15. Same thing for me. Was wondering if I had missed something. Nice to see it's not just me. Sucks you have the problem, too though :/ I can say that the same problem seem to appear at the Consular's chapter 3, "Chaos and Harmony" as well. WTB fix, BioBug.
  16. Wrong. I've been in group with healers in -190 gear who couldn't heal for ****. And no, was not a L2P issue. She/He just couldn't pump out more HPS with that gear. We had to replace her/him to complete the HM FP. We had been struggling the entire FP and by the end boss, we kicked the healer, didn't want to wait for a new one, and just did the boss with a healing comp, lol.
  17. You're talking about Xalek? REALLY? You can also imprison him, did you know that? Does this have any impact later on? No. Will I meet him again? No. Will it ever be mentioned again? No. Great! Simply amazing! I'm talking about storyline companinions aka "main characters" and "other followers". Who cares about the Alliance followers aka "Alliance recruits" who are basically just puppets who stand afk in your alliance camp? You can't even take them with you! They are NOT traditional companions like Mako, Jaesa, or even 2V-R8. They are pointless. So yeah, my point still stands. And for the record, I've played every single BioWare game and enjoy more of them. But what they told us was that this expansion was gonna have REAL consequences. LONG TERM consequences, and so far, I've seen NOTHING like that. NOTHING!. And don't give me that whole "most of us are fine with the story"-bs. Most people haven't even seen the story yet, and plenty of the feedback is negative. I'd actually guess that roughly half of what I've seen has been negative. HALF. That's NOT a good procentage.
  18. Sure, but it's so quickly glanced over that it seems to not matter at all or be important. Why does he want the throne? Why? This is a big issue because apparently that's the only thing he desires. But why? I'd think he would hate the throne since his father ignored him all his life. My own theory is that what you see in the trailer, is that Arcann gets more and more frustrated over the years from being ignored, that he finally snaps at the end trying to kill Valkorion, and in that moment where his brother dies, Valkorion finally accept him as his son and successor. It was all just a "test" by Valkorion because I wanted ONE successor. Which ever son would make it, would be acknowledged. But then again, that makes just about as much sense as anything else in this story: No sense what so ever. She does. But then I love to ask: Why bother pulling a third faction out of your *** if they are gonna act like Sith anyway? Why not just have Vaylin, Arcann and Valkorion BE Sith? Why do we have an Eternal Empire? It makes no sense, and it doesn't fit with the Sith Emperor's Masterplan, nor the timeline. Nothing matches anything. For me, it all just feels cheap and kinda shoe-horned in to make some plottwists to shock the player. But if it doesn't make any sense, then it doesn't work! Also, why isn't Vaylin shown in the trailer? That also feels cheap. It feels like the fact the Valkorion suddenly have a daughter is somehow suppose to be a twist itself. Why isn't she shown? Why was she kept secret? Why? Whyyy? WHY!??? This is stupid! This entire story just kinda feels like a bad M. Night Shyamalan movie, with stupid plottwists, that makes no sense.
  19. You think? Is it a requirement for them to have as little personality as possible at the same time? And will we ever get told why they act like they do? Why are they evil? Why do they kill their minions? Right now, they just seem like 1-dimensional villains with zero personality except that they are bat **** crazy. And on top of that, how dumb do these minions have to be, to after so many years still come up to Arcann & Vaylin and then be like "I screwed up", when every single person before him who did it, has died. Like, he might as well have said "Hello. Please kill me" *facepalm* This story is so amazingly written! /endsarcasm
  20. 100% spot on. Also, for me, Koth is just a Theron Shan clone. The standard boring male rogue. The complaining, sarcastic smart-mouth you've met in every single rpg since whenever. zzzzz
  21. In the main story? Who? Lana? no. Koth? no. HK? no. Senya? no. Theron? no. NO ONE! what companions are you talking about? I couldn't even kill Lana when i tried to, by not asking for the emperor's help in ch 4 or whatever. woopti *********** doo. so what? one fight more or less. i was expecting a bit more... bystanders that no one knows, are never mentioned again, and no one cares about. EXACTLY the kind of changes have been in the game since day one and that bioware said was gonna be signifigant in this expansion. gotcha. he mentions it once of twice. thats it. again: woopti *********** doo. i'd imagine killing about 5000 people would have far greater consequences, but might just me lol. again: this is not a major feature, but pretty much just the bare minimum. if i was just greeted with a "hello" i'd be pretty pissed. bioware said that this expansion was gonna be different, yet it's not. letters from npcs? never seen that before. really new and exciting. zzzzz what missions are those? And you've mentioned pretty much nothing. I still stand by everything I originally said. The impact you do is insignifigant compared to what bioware made us believe we would have. they said there were gonna be long term consequences. real consequences. not just some pointless comment from a companion. we have had that **** for years and the point of this expansion was to actually move beyond that.
  22. I completely agree. It all just feels empty. And they somehow shoe-horn in the story of Arcann allowing the reps and imps to keep their fleets just so they didn't have to make new "capitals" for the factions. It just feels cheap, guys. There's not even any changes made to the Fleets. They look exactly the same! For me, the prime of the story is the class story from 1 to 50. Beyond that it's all just very generic and plain. Just a clean slate made for all classes, and only very few dialogue changes addressing your class. Beyond that, it doesn't feel impactful at all in any way. Not Makeb, Revan nor KotFE.
  23. Nothing DOES change: I've played the entire released story twice, as I said above. One light side BH and one Dark side Jugg. By the end of the day, the same characters are dead and alive. You get the option to use the emperor's power to save Lana: if you do, she lives. If you don't: she lives. In other words: the option was COMPLETELY pointless. It's basically like someone putting a gun with no bullets to your face, and then pulls the trigger: What's the point? Later, you get the option to either stop Lana from killing a knight or not. You meet his partner later. If you didn't stop Lana, he'll say something about vengeance. If you did stop her, he'll just say something about getting credit for killing the outlander etc. I actually expected him to join you, or at the very least leave you. Nothing signifigant changes. And I wouldn't make such a big deal out of it, if it wasn't for the fact that, that was kinda the whole selling point of the expansion: the story and all it's consequences. Yet, there's no consequences except a few dialogues that changes. I can count all the dialogue that changes from a completely evil playthrough, to a completely good playthrough, on one hand! That's not good enough, BioWare! "Vastly"? Really? Please point to a single signifigant result that happened because of a LS or DS choice you made. And no, you don't avoid fights at all. What fights did you avoid? I'd like to point to the Lana and the knight example I mentioned again. Why did he attack me? I spared his friend!
  24. Yes, because the emperor being a mass-murdering psychopath is really a kind and loving man. ... oh wait...
