  1. If you pick the channelled Pulse Cannon as a Vanguard Tank, having it prog (yellow frame) through use of Ion Pulse will reduce the channel time from 3s to 1.5 sec, which presumably also halves the damage.
  2. You mean, I can disable sound categories altogether. That's like treating a papercut by amputating the arm.
  3. I don't expect them to. In fact, I fully expect them to ignore this post, because that has been my experience with Bioware so far. But if I don't post my opinion, who else will? Gotta try, man. And if there are other annoying sounds, if enough people complain about it, maybe there will be change after all. Not doing anything won't solve anything.
  4. So make it an option, then. You can leave the laughter on, I can turn it off and play two of my characters again. Options have never hurt anyone. Having to play another class or skillset is not really a solution, is it? If a certain class was broken beyond redemption, you wouldn't tell me to just roll another char, would you? You'd want that class to be fixed.
  5. ... and added it to two more classes, yes. Just to add insult to injury I'm not saying remove the audio cue entirely, I'm saying change it to something less annoying, or give us an option to turn it off. If you like hearing laughter every 5 steps, power to you. For me, it ruins the game.
  6. No, it's a laugh everytime I use one of three of my main abilities, either starting a fight, or with a cooldown of about 5 seconds. It's when you gain a stack of whatchamacallit, that thing that stacks to 10 that you can use for a special ability on the Trooper. Or whenever you gain a stack of Upper Hand on the Scoundrel.
  7. You're welcome. Ahaha! Ahaha! Ahaha! Ahaha! And so on, ad infinitum...
  8. (I know this has been discussed before, but there is no other way for me to express my dissatisfaction, since there is no Feedback option ingame or in the forum, and the Customer Support closed my attempted feedback ticket with an automated message, as I have come to expect from this game. So, please bear with me.) So, recently I started a Trooper and went Commando (Haw haw, Guttermind. No, the subclass. ). Loved the class, until I hit a certain level. At that level, my Commando became a crazy, murderous lunatic that just could not stop laughing every 5 seconds. This is unacceptable to me. Not even FemShep can remedy this. I am unable to play this character for more than 5 minutes at a time. This is the timespan it takes me to become pissed off at the incessant, annoying laughter. This completely and utterly ruins the character for me, and I have barely played her since. To my utter dismay, the Commando is not the only class with this "feature". The Scoundrel and one of the Bounty Hunter Subclasses has it as well. That makes THREE classes I won't be able to play, because of some rather pointless audio cue. Bioware, if you really value all your customers, like you said in one of your recent posts, PLEASE consider changing this to a less annoying sound, or by giving us the option to turn it off completely. Now, please, everyone tell me I am overreacting. Or voice your support.
  9. This. I started a new char with two of my friends recently, and, without sending him any money from my other toons, he made about 100k in a few days running slicing missions and selling dropped missions from those. High-level slicing missions sell for 45k upwards on my server. Also this. I was very surprised to see that most of the ressources sell for no less than 250 Credits per units, even some of the low level ones. I sold my excess materials the other day, and easily made 100k in 10 auctions or so.
  10. The Hutt were a warrior species, after all, so why not. Then they won. And we all know what happens to the winner: He turns into a decadent slug.
  11. What's the name of the song in that trailer? I like it.

    Wind Crystal?

Use Mission Discoveries. Get a lvl 110 Treasure Hunting mission schematic from the Market, then run it. Provided the mission is not a total failure (which happens very rarely), you WILL get a few purples, usually 2 to 4. So far, that holds true for every mission skill I used.
  13. Every crafting skill has two skills it "feeds" from (in the case of Cybertech those are Scavenging and Underworld Trading). Whatever you choose, those two skills are your best bet. Slicing really is a bit out of line. Not sure what else to tell you here :-/ I think it might mix well with other skills that reward schemata (I _think_ diplomacy, underworld trading and Investigation) to make your char a support-crafter or money-machine. Not sure what else to tell you here :-/
  14. Slicing is useful as a money-maker and for bonus missions/schemata(?) for all other trades. It doesn't "go well" with any particular crew skill, instead it is rather universal. At least that is my understanding.
  15. You picked a server with a light load, and now it is full? Who would'a thunk. Are you complaining that your server of choice has a healthy population, or that this population dares to vary depending on the time? Of course Server Load will vary. And of course more people will join now that the game is properly released. Deal with it, and enjoy the game. Queues are still rather short, and yes, I have to wait as well. But I'm willing to accept that, because it means that my server of choice is not a barren wasteland, deprived of sentient life. Have fun.
  16. I played on an RP-PVP server once, in another game. At first I thought it was a good idea. The game had a strong reason for PvP, and the rough world made it natural to try a RP-PvP server. But not all of the players there were RPers. I'd say that about half the population was there for other reasons than RP. One of them: ganking RPers. In an open world PvP setting, there WILL be ganking. Even if you're lucky and the ratio is way down, there will always be some jerk that thinks it's incredibly funny to kill you two dozen times on your way to the quest, using his stealthed, 10-levels-above-the-area char. Whole groups of PvPers sabotaged our RP meetings, there was a war happening between RPers and non-RPers. While that may sound interesting, trust me, it was not. It ruined the game for me. And the worst thing is, you can do NOTHING about it. You can't even complain; after all, you chose an (RP-)PvP server. Conclusion: Never again will I play on an RP-PvP server. If I absolutely, positively have to fight other players, I can always use the duel function, or just emote the combat - which can be pretty rewarding in itself. So long. *waves*
  17. Righto! So, I had this funny idea that there may be more people from the City of Heroes server Union around here. In fact, I _know_ some of you are playing here! So don't be shy and tell the world! Tell people your CoH @global name and maybe some of the chars you're playing! I'm me, @Haekel. If you don't recognize me by this name, you don't know me Currently playing (but not yet really RPing) two chars, a Sith Juggernaut called "Lortoc" and a sneaky Scoundrel by the name of "Eskell". Feel free to send me tells ingame, if you catch me!
  18. I am not certain, but I think your "critical" is just a prefix that indicates a +critical chance on that item. It's not actually a crafting crit.
  19. A bad one at that. While I understand that the guys have made a decision, and think it's the best one, it still leaves me frowning at the screen everytime I'm remember that there are apparently different classes of pre-orders. All in all, I can't say I'm happy with how this went. Won't preorder their games again. That said, I'm still looking forward to play the game, which looked pretty damn good last time I checked.
