  1. Sounds like Bioware has mentioned their intent to go through with chat bubbles on their Q&A. Great news!
  2. This is awesome! We love running into people who remember us from SWG! Great screen we're putting that one into the archives! Have any more screens?
  3. If you look at some of our other videos from SWG you'll notice the jawa scene is totally stolen from that video....
  4. Thanks for the great comments folks! We intend to make more videos. If you have suggestions on what you'd like to see, throw them up here or PM me. Those interested in joining the guild - please see our website.
  5. Yes that would be fine. As far as alts, we don't typically allow them in guild unless they are trooper. I think that is what you were asking?
  6. We are fairly lenient on entry level, as long as the applicant is promising. The lvl 20 minimum is to keep players from just joining us on a whim, then never log in. We want regular players, who log on and play their troopers! We already do run players through instances, and such to help them along - we could certainly help you. Great ideas from you, maybe you'd be an asset to Alpha Company..... Just sayin'
  7. If you join Alpha Company you are the front line. The only thing standing between the freedom and a Sith conquered Empire are the brave souls who decide they are going to stand and fight against oppression. We don't use lightsabers. We don't know how. We are not the jedi, their powers escape us, as we were not gifted with these at birth. But we can still fight. Even the most gifted Jedi will fall to concentrated blaster fire. Even the strongest saber wielder cannot block high explosive. We started our trooper guild in Star Wars galaxies ten years ago. We led one of the largest and most popular trooper only guilds in the game. We published a number of youtube videos that were immensely popular among the MMO community. Our most popular being Sandbox Soldiers: More videos are available on the same youtube channel as the above one. We are currently working on our new video for SWTOR. We were featured in Wired Magazine in 2005 for the very first Darth Vader military inspection in game where our company of stormtroopers was visited and inspected by Darth Vader in game. We brought RP and PVP content to a game that had little in the way of immersion as we would patrol cantinas, harrass aliens, and search for rebels. We would often sweep through battlegrounds in numbers exceeding 40+ and dominate against the Rebel Alliance. But now we have a new challenge. Now with SWTOR we have a new game, new challenge, and we have decided to trace our lineage back to the origins of the trooper, only to be facing the sith this time around. This guild is not for the faint of heart. We run like a military organisation. We have ranks. We have standard armour and colours (using modable items) based on rank. We have rules. We are very active - you will find most of our members are on most days, not because they are pressured to, but because they want to. Our pride is enormous and our sense of comraderie even more so. That said, we do not have an attendance requirement per se, simply that if you are going to be gone for more than two weeks to let us know on our forums. We PVP. Yes thats right. We are a hardcore RP guild (in /say chat we only talk in character - other channels it is not necessary) but we PVP to win. Because the best way to RP a trooper is to be actively engaged in the war no? But it also adds content and immersion to the game, because it is realistic for a company of troopers to be fighting regularly! If you are interested more information can be found at AlphaCompanyOnline.org If you want to join click on our "Training Manual" on the left hand side. Read it, and apply on the last page application form. If you want to see what it looks like to go into battle with a few dozen troopers - a sea of white armour if you will... Join Alpha Company. Be a part of our new legacy.
  8. Lets keep letting Bioware know we want this implemented.
  9. I wonder if Bioware has noticed this .... for me its a really big deal. I mean how do you hang out in Republic Fleet and have conversations with multiple people - what with all that jargon in the background?
  10. Thought some people would like that .... that channel actually has several SWG videos if you care to look. Any troopers out there that like RP and PVP we're doing our thing again on Jung Ma server - check out the link in my sig.
  11. I am a trooper. I have no burst run in combat. Can you imagine chasing down jedi in this game like in this video - this is my guild in our SWG days ...
  12. Like I said - It is standard for MMO's to allow the option to turn them off. I really would love to see this feature added soon - the social game depends on it!
  13. I feel as though it should be a priority. Its a basic game function, like being able to show helmet, or not show helmet. Just put it in options, and allow for us to toggle it on or off.
  14. We are all trying to build a better server community - regardless of what server we are on. Chat bubbles allow people to stand around and talk without trying to extract conversation from the endless pile of jargon coming through the chat window. I know ... i know you're going to say - "go change your chat settings". Well that might work for me but not for the person that is standing around whom I've never spoken too... odds are that person has their default chat settings and is not going to even notice that someone is talking to him. Example.... "Greetings Citizen" ...... silence..... "Greetings Citizen....." ...... WTB Purple Chestpiece.... Please let us have this social aspect to the game. How are roleplayers supposed to roleplay with no chat bubbles? How is everyone else supposed to say hi to someone without sending a /whisper? Bioware... its not asking much just draw a bubble over our heads when we /say something. My trooper guild became famous in SWG for patrolling cities, cantinas, and interacting with the server community while in character as troopers. We can't do that with the way the current chat system works. If you want this game to turn into a giant grindfest like WOW where nobody talks they just run around achieving personal goals then keep it the way it is, but I know for a fact that the Star Wars MMO community has alot of players who thrive on the social aspect of MMO gaming as well.
  15. Alpha Company is moving to JUNG MA server please amend the list!
