  1. Just letting the Jung Ma community know that we're still alive, kicking, and recruiting. Our Tank/Heals roster is filling/full, but we could use a few more DPS. If you're interested in raiding, or just looking for a community to call home, you're welcome to check us out at: http://www.reignguild.net
  2. In general I find the nerf to be too much, not because the Force Storm nerf was too harsh (I believe it was more-or-less spot on the money), but because (it appears that) it wasn't based on game play experience. It looks to be based exclusively on the loud complaining of the PvP community. Unfortunately, that community wasn't able to grasp the idea of avoiding Force Storm, or standing on top of teammates to bait volleys of Chain Lightning. However, as many of the other sorcerer parses have shown, I noticed an avg 270-320 dps loss after the patch, and have adjusted my rotation to not include force storm unless there are (at a minimum) 3 targets. The problem with the patch in my opinion, was that a class whose maximum burst output (in a single GCD) in PvP was in the high 4 digits (9500 ballpark) lost one of the (three) big abilities that made them so feared. Anyone can now stand in a Force Storm, and the only thing to worry about is the Chain Lightning and Thundering Blast...but the PvP community either doesn't care, or know how, to avoid getting hit by these things. Where other classes are hitting 12-15k biggest hits, sorcerers were making up for the lack of peak damage, with a larger volume. It took longer for a Sorcerer/Sage to kill a target, but it appeared as if they'd done 'more damage' (which they had), when in actuality the other classes [specifically] PT, Merc, Sniper, Jugg, had actually just destroyed their target more quickly. I'm under the impression that with a little more complaining, Sorcerers/Sages will experience another nerf, this time to Chain Lightning's damage. I understand the changes to Force Storm, it was being used in an unintended manner. However, as Sorcerers and Sages are now 1-2k behind the other top-end class(es) (see http://parsely.io/parser/leaderboard, there isn't a Sorcerer or Sage in the top 50 after the nerf), it may be necessary to ramp up an ability like Lightning Flash. By increasing the damage output from a single-target ability, they increase the overall DPS of the class, without crossing the border of too much AOE output. My two cents.
  3. Just a bump to put this back in the spotlight for a bit; we've had several new applications, but we're always looking for more. If you're interested, please feel free to contact us, either here, or in-game.
  4. < Reign> Reign is a progression focused raiding guild on Jung Ma. If you are looking for a guild with a relaxed and positive raid environment and a clearly defined schedule that still pushes new content as quickly as possible,Reign is the place for you. Reign is currently looking for new blood to bolster our raid team. Current recruitment needs are displayed below, but we are always interested in exceptional players. If you are a class that is listed as low or unlisted, but feel that you can compete with our current members, feel free to submit an application and we will strongly consider it. Due to manning concerns, our focus is on 16M. If our numbers are not sufficient on a given night, we defer to an 8M format. Our raid lead selects the most likely to succeed group from the members present. Recruitment for each team as follows: [16M]/[8M] Tank - Low Healer - Moderate - Sorc DPS - High - All (mara would be fantastic) Raid Nights Tuesday & Wednesday 8:00 - 11:00 PM EST (Optional) Friday 8:00 - 11:00 PM EST What we're looking for - Capable Raiders - Willingness to progress - Ability to adapt - Commitment What do you need to provide - A competitive parse submitted via Star Parse or Parsley - Appropriate entry level gear, augments included - Your time and energy - A formal application to our community If raiding isn't necessarily your forte but you are interested in Conquest, Community Events, and PVP. Reign is a gaming community at its heart. If you are simply looking for a place to call home, somewhere to hang out with fellow gamers and explore the Star Wars Universe, we encourage you to apply. For assistance, please contact: Raivus/PyrotekNick, Anvindr, Karisa, Kelec or Silkk
  5. I think this would be reasonable. Something to protect the general PvP community from the people doing the "end of season shuffle".
  6. Fact, there is only a trivial loss for swapping out a crystal; but letting every happy meal with a couple fries into ranked matches is a terrible idea. I'm talking about 0 (zero) pvp gear on some of these people. Why should the time I've spent getting my rating up to 1575 be **** on because the rating system doesn't know where to put someone who hasn't had their 10 games and is queuing without any PvP gear? How is that fair? I realize some of these people want a certain look, or more health, but they can swap out those items after they're in a match, so they can queue with full 2018. The idea would be a simple filter to keep out the folks who think pvp is cake, and they can just walk in the door and be good at it.
  7. I'd like to see a 2018 expertise gate for solo queues. So people who are pvping "to have fun" do it in the safer environment of normals, or group ranked; also so people like myself don't have to be grouped with people who can't live through two CDs because they're dead from the first. Oh, and cross server queues.
  8. I can see where you're coming from, and with that in mind, something I didn't remember to mention earlier: a PvP gear filter for ranked that would keep people out who aren't at least hitting the maximum for expertise (2018) from queuing for ranked, as a protective measure for the competitive types (like myself). P.S. Hi Crinn!!!
  9. @Pinkasaurus and AxeDragoneth: Yes, there is a great deal of merit to what you say. BioWare definitely did put more effort and resources into the PvE side of the house, and PvP was the abandoned stepchild. I accept that. However, I hold the (probably foolish) belief that with enough player feedback, we can generate a climate change within the BioWare Devs. Hopefully enough to get the ball rolling in regards to expanding the PvP side of the game. @Cookies: Again, valid points. I also believe that the ELO Ranked arenas were a sign that BioWare wanted to see their PvP community grow. If we as a community can rally enough support (across all the servers) we may see a push for more PvP-mindedness from the Devs. Also, I agree, a stronger PvP "playground" would be beneficial to the monetary, and attraction value of TOR as a whole.
  10. I don't spend much time on the SWTOR forums, and I spend even less time posting on them. However, sometimes what the Devs do just doesn't make sense to me. I play a Sorcerer on Jung Ma, and it is quite difficult to gain any kind of ELO (legitimately) when solo queuing. Not just for lack of skill, but for lack of games to be played. Now, to add insult to injury (I've just recently gotten my ELO back up to 1450) the TOR Devs have seen fit to create a bracket system and make the top tier an (almost) attainable, extremely high ELO level, while at the same time not creating any kind of PvP community "life-stirring" changes. The reward for that "elite" 1-5% (guessing on the percent here), is, wait for it...a helmet. The Cartel market has already proven that armor of any kind is easily reproducible with just a re-skin. Meanwhile, the unending prayer of PvP-ers for cross-server queues, some kind of unique looking gear (different from both the purchased, and PvE gear), and better balance for all classes, go unanswered. So Devs, while I reconsider my subscription: Please (I'm not berating, or threatening any of your staff), let your dedicated (a little bit less dedicated at the moment, I'll admit) PvP community have some insight into why we can't have the nice things that the PvE side of the house has (new raids, gear, story-lines, etc.). I would like to think that after 2+ years of subscription time, and (I have no idea how much) money spent on the Cartel Market you would be as loyal to your paying constituents as we are to you...since we are the ones who help pay the bills. Thank you for your feedback, PyrotekNick
  11. Just a quick bump, to all our new faces, we're glad to have ya. For those of you who haven't applied yet and are on the fence: please feel free to browse our site, hang out in mumble, and get to know us. Who knows, we may grow on you, and you might want to stay awhile. My game time is limited to an hour or two a day, but if you want a leveling partner, Carahi, PyrotekNick_Raivus, Sixty, and Tollibo are the late night crew (4-6 EST); If you want leveling/daily/FP at early hours of the morning, just type "Reign" in the /who option on TOR. One of us is always on. I look forward to seeing you in-game. -Nick
  12. If you're someone who is up late (4-6 EST), and would like someone to level with, or finish up those pesky dailies, hit me up: I'll either be playing on Raivus, or Retzev (lowbie), and I'm always lookin' for more company.
  13. There are still spots open, please apply, try us out. You may find our community to be exactly what you look for.
