  1. I've played a shadow since release. You'll find at the lower levels, survival is going to be lacking. Inf shadows are always going to glass cannons. And at lower levels, it even worse. Kin shadows, which is what I play, also seem frustrating at first. No matter the class, you won't come into your own until you're about 40 or so. If you are really indecisive about which way to go, play both classes until about 40. Then you'll have an idea of which playstyle you enjoy more. The benefit of this is you can always switch to another toon if you get tired of the one you're currently playing.
  2. I put everything into Kinetic until I reached 31, then put the rest into Balance. It's a great class and great spec to level with. I had no trouble at all with any of my class quests, do fairly well in pvp, and really started mowing through content once Theran Cedrex joined me. I will say that I did not feel like a decent pve tank until I acquired slow time. Most of the fights in this game involve multiple targets and our AOE tanking wasn't very strong until ST. However, with ST, it's very rare that someone is able to take aggro from me. Enjoy!
  3. I've read about the secret companion HK-91. An Assassin Droid. Is this real or has the idea been scrapped? I just finished Hoth and never even saw a reference to an assassin droid. Thanks for any info!
  4. If you really consider "stealth" is in actually the use of the force to distort your image...think cloaking...size doesn't matter as much. Also, even large individuals can have incredible dexterity and be very nimble. It all boils down to training.
  5. The shadow does start off very easy. I have easily leveled up as a Kinetic Shadow. While it does become more complicated as you get to the endgame, you also have to account for the fact that you've had the first 40 some-odd levels as a learning curve. But the time you get up in levels, you'll most likely have a good idea of how to use your spec. From there, you can just tweak to increase effectiveness and efficiency. So in short, yes, the shadow is complicated, but only if you inherit a 50 shadow. If you level him up, he's very forgiving in the beginning and would have learned a lot of how to use him properly by the time he starts becoming complicated.
  6. I play mainly a consular shadow. I really enjoy the class, but the story is lack luster. I actually steered clear of the sage because as I Jedi, I wanted a class that was centered around the lightsaber. Even the best example of a Jedi Sage, Yoda, was a beast with a LS. And the sage just didn't offer that for me. For the best cinematic Jedi experience, my vote is either Jedi guardian or shadow.
  7. MoCo here, checking in. I'm on Ebon Hawk as a Jedi Consular Shadow tank.
  8. I have to say, while Theran is definitely a creepy dude, in love with his computer AI, his heals and Holiday's mezzes are quite awesome. He is all I really use. With regards to Nadia...She's your Padawan?!? Who else here thinks that is just ethically messed up... The whole game I play a wise Light Side Jedi Consular. Then all the sudden you want me to flirt with my Padawan? LOL Yea, the romance options for this Shadow just doesn't make sense.
