Been a lot of complaining in the forums. People unhappy about PvP, unhappy about bugs that take 2 years to resolve, unhappy about the now lack of ability to customize companions, changes to classes like Power Techs/Vanguards who despite having blasters, never really use them to shoot lasers. People unhappy about in-game support tickets that remain open for weeks at a time... the list goes on. For the most part, these issues go completely ignored. Why is that, you say? I'll tell you.
Because, in the minds of developers, they know what's best for us more than we do. You see this with iPhone/Android OS changes. You don't get a say in that stuff either. They just change it because reasons. They know what's best (apparently). For most game developers, it's the same. "You don't get to have that ability any more because we think you don't need it. Don't like that? Aah, that's too bad. We're developers. We know better than you." Do any SWTOR vets remember how long it took them to fix the blasted companion weapon bug? Heck, it wasn't until KotFE that they finally addressed the unify color issue for comp gear in cut scenes (though it doesn't matter for any of the new KotFE companions since you can't customize a single dang one of them anyway). But you know what? My opinion doesn't matter. And neither does any opinion of any player who's ever complained about it. Why? Because we've just kept PAYING (be it through subs or cartel purchases).
Well I'm done paying. A legacy level 50 subscriber who's maybe missed only 1 or 2 subscription months in total, since launch, is pulling out. A loyal subscriber who has 23/24 characters, and has spent (I'd wager approximately) $2000+ on subscriptions, expansions, and cartel market stuff over the span of this game's life... gone. And not because of the changes to companions in the most recent patch (which apparently has everyone up in arms with fury), but because of the half-*****ed, laissez faire attitude they take to the issues in the game and in the forums. The behavior reeks of condescension. Their opinion is the only one that matters.
So I will speak the only language developers (and their investors) understand. Subscription: gone. Cartel purchases: gone. Translation: In the words of Darth Vader, "You have failed me for the last time, [bioware]."
