  1. I am dissapointed with the direction this thread has gone. At first people were expressing their concerns over the high res textures and demanding a response from bioware, as we should have. But now, this thread has turned into hate mongering with very little constructive posting. In my opinion, Bioware is far from a horrible company and they did give us feedback on the issue. They are trying to improve the game's visuals while trying to keep the game stable. Now, there is an issue about holding back the option for high res from customers for apparently no reason. I won't assume to know everything about game mechanics and say they should have done this another way. Sure, I am upset I am not offered an option to at least try out the higher settings for myself. But you know what? The game is still very new and Bioware has time to make things right. Everyone makes mistakes right? Are we not allowed to make up for our own mistakes? I say we allow them some time with this, at least until 1.2 like they stated. In closing, my opinion is that Bioware is a good company. I have always enjoyed their games and they seem to be in this business for the right reasons. I am willing to give them some slack. Disclaimer: This post is in no way focused on any one person or being used as an attack of any kind. The above is strictly the author's opinions and to be treated as such.
  2. The way I see it is this. Why not give the user the option to run the game on any setting they want? In the end, if they choose poorly, it will only hurt their personal gameplay. After which, they can turn it down again. This leads me to believe that they are not allowing this for reasons beyond what they say. Perhaps they noticed something during beta when using the textures and opt to just disable for now like they did with the matching armor option, remember that? I see no harm in giving options. Or did I miss something? Is there harm in it? In any case, I believe they should be up front about this stuff.
  3. Lol, I have a strange sense of pride in the fact we just summed up an entire thread with cookie comparisons.
  4. Mmmm, cookies. I am fairly certain that cookies fix everything. Shame on them for not baking cookies. Doesn't matter anyway, even if they did bake cookies they wouldnt be in high resolution unless you were talking to them. And really, who talks to cookies?
  5. Oh wow, nostalgia. Was I the only one annoyed that seemingly every mob in that game had a ranged attack? No kiting for you, ever!
  6. Yeah, I expressed this idea many pages ago and I did submit it to the original poster. I think it is a good idea and a step in the right direction. We spend most of our time looking at ourselves anyway, how vain!
  7. I doubt it will be on par with the cutscenes. But anything better is a positive step forward to me.
  8. I will ask the original poster to put up my idea. I understand that most of you are very upset and I can't say I don't blame you. But, I think we should try to come up with constructive ideas that maybe Bioware will go along with as "small" steps. The idea of having the "option" (It's all about options) of displaying just your player character in high resolution at all times can work really well. Though, it is up to Bioware if they want or are able to do this change. It would keep the load down and make most people involved happy. I know for me personally I would enjoy the game alot more just having my character on high. I hope this all gets sorted out soon.
  9. I believe it is a good compromise as well. Hopefully, if more people notice this, we can get enough to agree and maybe Bioware can make it a "quick" fix. At least it would be a step in the right direction and we can enjoy our characters more.
  10. My idea keeps getting buried under all this craziness! What does everyone think about having just your player character in high resolution? It is the character we look at the most anyway and it would keep load down or whatever Bioware is afraid of. Yes? No? Should be easy to do, right?
  11. I hope most of you realize that they have the power to change this in the future when they get a better feel of how most people run this game in current settings. That is a good thing. That said, I still hold by my idea. Allow the player to see only their character in high resolution. That would make alot of us happy and keep the load low.
