  1. Necroing the thread, issue still present. Players don't have to jump through hoops because Bio can't figure out the respawn timers of their own NPCs.
  2. Instance (1) of Belsavis is inaccessible on the Darth Malgus server, even though the list of players on the planet shows no players are present on there. When I killed the boss yesterday, it was always on the first instance, while the other two were empty.
  3. After completing the achievement I was informed that I have unlocked a new Legacy Title, but I cannot seem to notice what that Legacy Title is. Anybody got a clue as to what it might be?
  4. How is a company responsible for the opinions of the people that play the game? That's some weird logic you got there.
  5. I would like to share my opinion on this subject as well, because decorating my stronghold has been the only consistently fun part of the game for me. I doubt Bioware will actually do something about the current issues with the strongholds, but it feels good just sharing ideas with others about it. I believe the hook system by itself is very limiting. They should have just let us put whatever we want, whenever we want (within reasonable boundaries of course, can't have full-scale rancors and anti-air defense turrets in little corridors). Also, the fact that you can't change the design of the stronghold itself (including day/night mode, general wall and floor look, even room positioning and size if you will) is infuriating to me. How are we supposed to make this our digital home with barely any customization options of the home itself? I agree wholeheartedly with all of the suggestions here. I feel like the whole SH system is the absolute minimum as to what can be considered player housing.
  6. The messages come after the Ossus storyline, mate. In it you decide to support either the Republic or the Empire. I'd like to believe Bioware are planning on doing something with them, and not just pretending they never existed. But I'm not holding my breath tbh. I agree with the rest of your post wholeheartedly, except with the part about Koth and Arcann being ok with everything. It might be just me, but I don't think Koth cares about Zakuul only, not after the events of KotFE and KotET anyway. So if he sees you turning into the same dictator as Arcann was, slaughtering civilians left and right, I'm certain he'll try something to stop you. But he should be ok with joining the Empire without all of that killy business. As for Arcann (and Senya to some extent), well, same logic really. Having walked that path before, I'm certain he would at least try to stop you from going down it as well, if not actively sabotage the Alliance. There's room for a lot of development of their characters. Now, if Bioware would spend the resources into advancing them, that's another thing. Well, I'm being hypothetical here. But I still think there's a chance for Lana to turn against you, even if it's a slim one. She doesn't strike me as the type of the Sith that can ignore someone ordering the senseless deaths of innocents for too long. So if you go down that path, I think there's a chance she'll turn against you as well.
  7. That's exactly my logic as to why someone would try to overthrow the commander. At this point, the Alliance is as much theirs as ours. The initial point of the Alliance was to defeat the Zakuul, but if it turns out to be just another merciless empire bent on galactic domination due to a player's choices, I can definitely see Theron, T7 and Jorgan staging a coup. I use those three as an example because they have the most impact on the story, but any other pub companion, perhaps even some from the Star Fortresses, heck you can even add Senya and Arcann in here, is a potential ally of theirs. Just my thoughts, of course. I mean, you can have your opinion, but it makes no sense for Jorgan, for example, to stick with the Alliance if you continuously make pro-Imperial choices. As for your love interest - as I already mentioned, I can see pub companions, even romancable ones, betraying an imp-aligned Alliance, the exception being the smuggler ones - Risha, Corso and Akaavi. The alternative is less likely, because all of the original imp LI were either not loyal to the Empire to begin with (Kaliyo, Vette, Mako, Torian, Ashara, Andronikos), were more loyal to the player (Jaesa) or have had their loyalty change (Raina). Vector and Quinn are the only potential betrayers I see, although I admit I don't know what the post-Kotfe story of Vector is. He may be more loyal to the Killiks now for all I know. As for the new LI i.e. Lana, Theron, Koth and Arcann - Theron and Koth could potentially turn on you if they see you're turning into too much of a dictator. Maaaaybe even Arcann. Lana is the only one that will stay with you I believe, even if you turn out to be a monster. Again, just my thoughts on the matter. Huh, interesting. I never took Drellik for the patriotic type. I always assumed he preferred being an archeologist, and it just so happened that he was raised in the Empire. Then again, it's been a while since I played the SI class story, so I may have forgotten some details about him. You're completely correct about Lana though. I'd much prefer if someone was taken out of my rooster with active companions due to the choices I've made instead of being completely forgotten by the story. There's always the option to make such companions available from the Odessen terminal for those that don't want to lose the credits spent on companion gifts, or who just like that particular companion for whatever reason.
  8. Yup, that's correct mate. The heroics were massively changed in 4.0 to what they currently are. What an absolute waste, I'd say.
  9. Now that the storyline is going decisively Imp vs. Pub again, do you think that some companions will opt to permanently leave, or try to sabotage the Alliance? I chose to go with the Empire on Ossus with my SW, and after that I received some interesting messages from Jorgan and T7. Basically, they can be summarized in "we're still buddies, but don't make me go against my people". I can see the Alliance experiencing an internal conflict as the only logical scenario, perhaps even being lead by Theron (if you choose to spare/keep him after Nathema. I did, because the DS choices were pretty dumb). I believe he would rather remove you from power than just let everything he has worked and sacrificed for become another tool of the Empire (which is what's happening as far as the current story goes). The imp companions rebelling against the commander is somewhat harder to believe though. Even Lana, which is IMO the most patriotic towards the Empire companion at the moment, would rather follow you.
  10. Letting the civilians burn in the hangars of Taris' Reclamation base, at the end of the Imperial storyline. Choosing to shut down the power at the hospital in Axial Park, resulting in the short and brutal deaths of the people that were kept alive there. Empire storyline again. Destroying the mesas of Makeb still with Regulator presence on them (and a lot of civilians as well), once more at the end of the Imperial storyline. Choosing to have the captured padawans executed at the end of the Assault of Tython flashpoint, imp version. Choosing to blow up the bombs Kaliyo has set up around the city of Zakuul at the end of Chapter 10. From the class stories - I remember you could snap the neck of an unconscious woman at the end of the JK Alderaan class story. Oh, and I still remember the end of the Belsavis SW class story - you could force the Jedi Master to kill Baras' sister, threatening him you would just have her released after he leaves.
  11. As another guy said - plot hole. I've come to the point where I have accepted my headcanon as, well, canon and am just using the expansions as basis upon which to build upon.
  12. OP, I've beaten both KotFE and KotET on Veteran mode (or whatever the middle difficulty was called) with a sorcerer in 220/224 gear and with companions that don't go above level 20 (most of the time they were also set as dps or tank). Could the difficulty of the chapters been handled better than just ramping up the dps output of the enemies? Absolutely. But things are what they are. So either suck it up and keep trying until you beat it, or lower the difficulty.
  13. Dulfy and Exiled Messenger definitely deserve some recognition. Vulkk as well, even though he's relatively new to the game.
  14. Sorry about necroing this thread, but I feel strongly towards this subject. I am no expert, but I doubt it will be that hard to let players choose if they want to auto-complete a heroic or finish it the regular way. I also realize asking for this to be implemented is gonna fall on deaf ears, as there's a ton of such seemingly easy to fix little thingies that have been ignored for years. But hey, hope dies last.
  15. Well yes, we are sharing an account, it's just that his server died so he came to mine. Oh well, guess I'll have to try my best to ignore it. Thanks for the answer anyway.
  16. I'd just like to say this issue still persists as of today. The global cooldown activates, but the abilities do not get executed.
  17. Didn't know where to put this so General Discussion seems the most fitting - can I remove a training dummy from a character's ship if I have it already unlocked? My brother transferred some of his characters to my server back in the day, and he had the PvP training dummy unlocked on them. I hadn't bought it, so I guess that's the reason I have it unlocked on my characters as well now. The thing is, it's bugging me, especially during cutscenes. So if there's a way to disable it, that would be great.
  18. Guys, as I pointed out originally, I wrote while looking for people that I will need explanations with the tactics because I'm not familiar with the operation. Everybody that wanted in knew exactly what he was getting into. That, or they expected to get carried while just mashing buttons. I guess I'm ranting about a high amount of new players not wanting the learn tactics (at least in my experience), the gap in difficulty between solo content and group content being too high and geared and supposedly experienced players not bothering to explain things because they just want a quick run to get the CXP at the end. Do you know how many times I've had to explain what the tactics are on Bestia or Operator IX while not being group leader? If you have such high expectations about pug raid leaders, that's on you, mates. No offense mate, but that's absolutely made-up information. That has literally never happened to me, or anyone else I have had more meaningful interaction with in the game. I'm not trying to brag or anything, although it definitely seems like I'm doing it, but I've done exactly this a lot of times. And I used to see many people do it as well. I admit, the new (relatively speaking) raid seems to have more complex mechanics than most, however I didn't know it at the time and I expressly stated so multiple times while creating the group.
  19. First things first - I started playing TOR back when the trial program launched, which was something of a prelude to it going F2P. So I think I qualify as a veteran that knows a thing or two. Also, this thread may come out as a rant to some people, so you've been warned at least. I haven't been doing a lot of endgame recently, mostly a gf ops run here and there. However, I've noticed a trend when doing something that isn't on the gf list. Many players, mostly but not exclusively those with little to no achievements, somewhat crappy gear and not communicative in the chat, display a severe lack of understanding of what to do. I realize I'm coming up as an elitist, but hear me out. Back in the day, it was normal for someone to write in the chat if he hasn't done an ops/boss before. I've done it on more than one occasion, I've seen other people do it as well, and there has always been someone willing to explain the tactics. After learning a fight, I've also explained the tactics for it to new players many times. These days, I rarely see this happen. New players don't write anything in the chat, even thought it's obvious they don't know what they're doing. I have tried explaining tactics anyway, yet many are either incapable or unwilling to follow them. Usually they leave without saying a word after one or two wipes. Additionally, it seems few are willing to explain tactics at all now. Here's an example: I tried looking for guides for the Gods of the Machine ops, yet I managed to find only for the first two bosses. Fair enough I thought, I'm just going to write while looking for a group that I haven't done this ops before and will need explanation on tactics. Besides, it's a sm run, how hard can it be. How wrong I was in both of my assumptions. I make a full group, all is well and good. However, no one offers any advice or guidance, even though I repeatedly ask for it in the chat prior to starting the raid. At least no one wrote the usual "gogogogogg". First boss is a wipe, unsurprisingly. One of the "pro" dps (i.e. has good gear, knows his rotation but hasn't said a word in the chat until now) writes something along the lines of "attack boss only, leave the adds". It's a little bit better the second time, although one or two guys die anyway. The tactics for the second boss were, more or less, a complete mess in my head, but I still had some idea of what to do. This time we wiped twice. The run happened some time ago, so my memory is not quite clear, but I think one dps of the aforementioned "doesn't have achievements, doesn't have gear, doesn't talk" type left at this point. It's not like it hasn't happened before, I thought. I go back to the fleet and spend a couple of minutes looking for another dps. No one writes anything in chat. No advices, no explanations, nothing. The new dps seems to be our lucky charm, because we get through this boss fight, although I have no idea how. I tried following whatever tactics were in my head to the best of my abilities, but it was a button mash at the end, at least for me. Third boss is a complete blank for me. I don't know what to expect. I state that in the chat again. I get one "just go" as an answer. I need to mention that things weren't going ok even before we start the fight, because some of the geniuses dropped down and got engaged in combat due to the candle thing or whatever, I didn't quite get it. Had to stuck it and run back from the start of the ops. Anyway. Wanna guess what happened after we started the fight? Hint: We didn't get to finish this run. I'm proper annoyed at this point, and start venting in the chat. Honestly, what did they expect of me? I must have said at least two dozen times that I haven't done this raid before. Another "pro" dps goes "git gud noob" and leaves.. A couple other guys join him as well, with the exception that they don't even bother writing something. One of the heals says "Get a guild and do it with them". The other one chimes in with "This fight is too hard to explain". Thanks for the input, mates. For the record, they both had the achievements of doing the ops on sm. So yeah, that's my gripe with the current endgame population. I believe the source of this behaviour can be found in Bioware's treatment of new players. The majority of the new content is either spoonfed to the player and/or has a nanny NPC/bonus abilities that more or less play the game for you. Add to that that pretty much all of the old content has been dumbed down to the ground - tactics in sm ops are mostly gone as of 4.0, the companions are still OP and can carry you regardless of what gear you have, and let's not even get at how bolster ruined proper leveling. Hell, you can even add the removal of the skill trees and the base classes. Tl;dr Bioware are treating the new players as braindead and I believe this is the reason they give up when being faced with something resembling a challenge.
  20. Some clarification is needed I believe. It wasn't exactly a 16m run, we were just taking down a world boss and there were 16 people in the group. And I followed your advice by turning the shadows off, but there was no effect neither in warzones or in a PvE scenario. There's even a slight framerate drop here and there when doing heroics with a full group.
  21. Well, I just tried doing a 16m run and the performance was even worse. Thanks for the interest but I'm positive it's not hardware problem. Don't have Crysis 3 right now, but BF3 runs just as smooth. I was planning on taking a break from the game anyway, seems like this is the time.
  22. It's hot outside, around 35 degrees, but inside the apartment is much, much more cooler so I don't think that's the problem.
  23. GTX 570 videocard, i7-2600k cpu, 8 gigs of RAM.
  24. Thanks for the detailed explanation, but that doesn't explain why this stuff started happening since yesterday. I've been playing since the trial program hit live and I've never had such crap performance except when around the fleet's GTN on peak hours with friendly player nameplates turned on. Please understand, I'm not talking about a freeze here and there during a full showdown between both teams. The second we are able to leave the spawn zone, the framerate pummels to the ground. P.S. The support here is about as useful as a gas bottle in a forest fire so I won't even bother asking them for help.
  25. Nope, this is the right forum because this doesn't happen outside of warzones. If I can run Crysis 3 on high settings, there's no reason this prehistoric engine should make trouble. As I said, this happens only in warzones and not just to me, I've talked with 5-6 other people and they experience the same thing.
