  1. Are powertechs/vanguards still min maxing mods + enhancements for power and surge?
  2. I was actually wondering where to start for PvE gear on my characters, they all have min/maxed pvp gear, and i was wondering if that was good enough for HM flash points. I would ilke to do some PvE at least just to see the story behind it, but I don't wanna be a drag to the group.
  3. Hello, I have always been a PvPer, but I've been starting to get a little bored with it lately. I want to start PvE'ing, and I'm not afraid to grind through flashpoints to get the appropriate pve gear, but I have no idea what class I want to play. I have everything at 55 for imperials except a merc and op. I think I would like to play a tank, but I wasn't sure what class to gear, my PT, Sin or Jug. I was kind of leaning toward trying the sin, but i was curious if he would be able to possibly tank an operation or not. I would imagine the PT/Jug are better primary tanks, but I would like some input from experienced players as to the pros/cons to each tanking class. Thank you!
  4. First of all, I want to say I am not normally this negative, but I think this is wrong. I am no expert on the bolster system, however I have used the voss MH/OH item modifications vs min/maxed obroan weapons and learned the following: I guess I don't understand your reasoning being the "stat sacrifice" argument about the voss mods. With mix/maxing gear most classes take out alacrity anyway, so that part doesn't matter. Most gear sets come with too much crit so you take most of that out, and you DO NOT get more HP with obroan weapons than you do with MH/OH with voss mods, enh, hilts/barrels, augs + crystals. Players generally get approximately 2000 more health when running with Voss MH/OH than with obroan. What annoys me is that we spend so much time grinding out the "best" weapons (obroan) and they aren't even as good as weapons you can make yourself at the minimal cost of a few planetary comms and a few credits. I am sorry, but a free buff should NEVER be on par with the top tier of gear. The argument of sacrificing stats using the voss mods does not make sense because the gain is tremendous and the loss is very minimal. On top of this, when you say there is room for min/maxing your gear vs the voss mods to increase the gap, when you put the lower mods in you are choosing the same set of stats in i.e. power + surge, as you would in the obroan weapons. This is essentially min/maxing the voss weapons. Out of that post all I really learned is that I don't need to spend my wz comms on weapons anytime in the near future.
  5. I think they should make a vendor with armorings, mods, enhancements, etc... of what would be the equivalent of "recurit gear" so people can still have the "look" they want, but be able to have an entry level set of pvp gear. Oh, and you could make the cost planetary comms so it's affordable when players hit 55. I agree, I worked too hard getting my obroan gear to have the weapons be useless because you can buy the voss mods and they bolster WAY above obroan weapons.
  6. First off, I want to say good job on Kuat Drive yards, it's nice being able to run a FP at any level and the queue not taking too long. I was wondering if there are plans to make more of these and/or convert some of the older lvl 50 flashpoints to bolstered flashpoints because no one really plays them since the level cap was increased to 55. I'd like to do/revisit some of the older lvl 50 content, but the queues never pop for them.
  7. Are there any plans to allow players to change the sex of their character through cartel coins? The only problem I can see is that you would have to reset all of the crew conversations, but that doesn't seem like it would be that big of deal.
  8. I agree with this, but I think a straight up deathmatch to a certain score/timer would be really fun. I think on a mid-sized map to keep the action continuous this would be a great idea. Not too sure how i would feel about the traps, but there's a lot of room to play with there.

    Tatooine arena...

I thought they fixed being able to avoid the gas in arena? Was in ranked yesterday and the guy on our team (in a 4v1) stealths out, and then never gets touched by the gas and wins the arena. I was even on the winning team and did not appreciate this-- we should have lost, hands down. He did this both rounds and won. Please remove the canopies in tatooine all together, the serve no purpose but aesthetics, and it ruins arena. It's already bad enough people stealth out for the entire round, and there is no "seeing eye" type thing to grant greater stealth vision to even have a chance to find them for the rest of the round.
  10. pick those talents that reduce AOE damage by 30% and then lolsmash and it even hurts PT dps.
  11. at level 45 you become a beast again
  12. in pvp? go pyro if you want to play your second best dps tree. That's like rage being the best spec for jugs/mara's and people playing carnage/veng and thinking they are amazing because they do almost as much damage as a rage spec. Damage is damage, and it doesnt matter how you get it. ATM, pyro is just not as good as 8-36-2 or 11-33-2 (pyro may do more damage than this second spec, idk i havent played much pyro lately, but it's utility is very nice) . I miss Pyro too, but until it can out damage AP, it's on the shelf. (forgive me if I'm not up to date on which mara/jug spec is the best anymore, havent played one if a long time-- but you know what I'm talking about--you saw it in gen chat all the time) but overall, if you arent pvping ranked, do whatever you have fun with.

    stealth PvP class

healer is a sorc, but I'm tired of healing. I;ve heard OP overall damage is low, but they have a ton of stuns which is nice. My op is like 42, sin 26, just tryingto make a decision

    stealth PvP class

For dps, OP or Sin? please dont say op for healer, I'm only looking at DPS stealth, i already have heals =) Thanks!
  16. Like everyone else said, you will get better with higher levels. snipers are beasts by level 25, mara's.... not so much. On top of that, the way thing are working as of now in arena's, you will see a lot less ranged dps in arena's once you get to ranked, which makes life easier for a mara.
  17. you are very wrong. I VERY MUCH ENJOY arena's in the normal rotation. Even if it is a premade vs pug and you get rolled, who cares?! It doesnt count against your ranked rating, and it's a very fast game and you get a good amount of comms. stop whining.
  18. cool thanks! no cloak of shadows type ability though?
  19. I am fairly new to the agent class (I suppose an assassin may have a similar question), however I have 3 55's which i have done a lot of pvp on. I've been leveling my agent (lvl 40) and the only problem I have with the stealth mechanic is getting out of combat to restealth. I know I can use cloaking screen to vanish and get away, but when that is on cooldown i have a hard time being able to restealth. Often, I engage a target, kill it, and run away to a location where I haven't been attacked or done any attacking for what is probably approximately 8-10 seconds and I am still in combat! Is there a trick to get yourself out of combat when you havent actually engaged in combat recently? Also, is there something similar to cloak of shadows to remove DoT's from yourself before using cloaking screen? (sorry for the wow reference, I promise I haven't played that game in ages!)
  20. I honestly think adding a cooldown would fix the issue, i think somewhere around 8 seconds would be good
  21. I'm sure there have been numerous posts about this, but a nerf needs to happen, and soon. Roll ruins huttball. And huttball has been popping a lot lately. Roll either needs a cooldown (something like 8-10 seconds?), or it needs to drain WAY more energy, OR a combination of the above stated things with roll a much shorter distance. Every game with an agent/smuggler begins with the person rolling too the ball, or all the way to the opposite endzone. The first score happens within 10-15 seconds of a game. I rarely make "this needs nerf posts" but I play a lot of WZ's, and this is something I have been seeing happen over, and over and over again. There is no real way to counter this either. I don't want to have agents or smugglers nerfed into the ground, but this ability is insane. I guess if you don't want to nerf the roll, then make no cooldown for my sorc's sprint (just kidding about sprint, incase some of you didn't pick up the sarcasm).
