  1. You sound "geared enough". I don't think that's the problem.

The Taral V bonus boss wipes a lot of bad groups who don't move fast enough, and the first Esseles boss needs to be tanked facing away from the group to avoid his cone AoE. The tank can AoE taunt the adds as they come, but DPS should be able to use knockbacks and DPS can burn them down since they are only normals.

  2. 4.) i think bioware was trying to go with some kind of druid-esque class, but they didn't give us all the necessary tools. what i mean by that is a mobile, HoT-based class. we don't have enough HoTs, though, that we could be considered a 'HoT' class. SRMP is decent, but nothing amazing. kolto cloud is mediocre, but still useful.

Yeah, agreed. Your Kolto Pack suggestion is similar to mine—refreshing SRMP—although an altenative would be to give KP a talented HoT component (100% of direct heal value over 15s) and perhaps a 30% chance to refresh existing HoT's.

Med Screen is still super useful, especially in PvP. Personally, I'd drop the Dodge/speed talent and put Med Screen there, and then a Kolto Pack related talent where Med Screen was to keep hybrid builds from being too OP.

  3. Why are you correcting me when you are so obviously incorrect? Salvation heals an unlimited amount of allies. Why can't Kolto?

The Sage AoE is the exception, and I'm aware it doesn't have a hard limit. Most other AoE's do, and I'd rather have a limited-target, but more powerful heal and/or a heal with a side-effect. We don't need to have killer AoE, but better AoE would be good. Leave the AoE to the Sages - I like my classes to at least be a little different.

We aren't AoE healers, yet the pinnacle of our healing tree is an AoE heal. If it weren't for that, I would agree with you. If we are supposed to be single target healers, then the mechanics should be put in place to make our single target healing as superior to Commando and Sage single target healing as their AoE heals are to us. You could make an argument that Scoundrels are the game's best single target healer and be credible, but if they are, it isn't by much. If you don't think our AoE healing should be improved to be on par with the other classes, that is fine, but you have to acknowledge that we aren't good enough in other areas to compensate for it.

I totally agree that we need a boost to our single target healing. A boost to SRMP, or the ability to more easily refresh it via direct cast would be of huge benefit. Hence my recommendation for a (reduced energy cost) Kolto Pack - consume 1 Upper Hand and refresh your HoT's on a target + get a half-decent fast cast direct heal. Right now, KP sucks because of it's cost (in energy + UH) and lack of clear benefit.

  4. 1. Kolto Cloud needs to affect more than 4 players and it needs to heal for at least 60% more than it does presently. It is a level 31 talent and it would be awesome. Yes. It is useful right now. I use it a lot. The problem is that it is a 31 level talent and inferior in every way to what the other healing classes get.

It won't affect more than 4 targets. AoE in this game has limits. I do agree that it does need to do a LOT more healing for a 31-point talent.

    2. Replace Med Screen with a talent that will give the Defense Screen buff to everyone in the group. I don't think this is so outlandish. Sages have the same ability and their ability is BETTER than Defense Screen. And only Sawbones-specced Scounrels would be able to obtain it, so it isn't like it would be all that unbalanced.

Not so sure on this. We aren't AoE healers - better, would be an increased stack of SRMP, or the ability to refresh the DoT's on our target via Underworld Medicine or even Kolto Pack (and decrease the energy cost of Kolto Pack so it's worth using...).

  5. I'm just going to comment on the bits where I want to add something. I agree RE: Emergency Medpack being awesome.

    31 point talent...

I understand that a lot of people don't like this ability, and I must admit it isn't great... but at least it's not the AoE grenade BH/Commando get right? Yes the Sorc/Sage AoE heals for more but it in on the ground (Read doesn't move) and must be channeled (Read can't move) so it doesn't leave much room for .... you know... moving... The healing on it may be a touch lackluster and could prolly use just a touch of love from BioWare but since it does move with the tagets it's healing it does still have a place.

The +15% buff from the two-piece set bonus should just be baked in.

    Diagnostic scan

Ok... now I understand why this heal is in the game, I understand it's purpose and function. What I DO NOT understand is why do I need to spend FOUR count them FOUR talent points to make this useful in any way shape or form? Honestly if this cost 2 talents points (1 for the crit 1 for the energy) I would love this ability.... but with that high a cost it's just not worth it in PvP at all. Side note I also think this being an instant cast isn't a terrible idea either as it would keep in line with our mobile healing.

Agreed. The four (4) talent point investment is way too much. It should be +12% crit/1 energy back (1/2) and +24% crit/2 energy back (2/2), and they could toss some +armor or whatever buff in there somewhere to make up for lost points.

    4) Vanish... now this honestly bothers me so much about this class. How are you going to give us stealth, give us vanish and then reduce healing received.... AND DEALT by 100% for 10 seconds after use... ok the healing received thing I get... kinda... but the dealt? Really? Why? Why can I not heal my partner after using this? This just needs to be changed.

Since you can't heal from stealth, I completely agree. Using it for a quick target break/reposition means you're boned for the next 10 seconds, which is crazy. If you could heal from stealth (which I don't agree with), I'd understand the debuff. But it doesn't make sense in the current context.

  6. I just wanted to second the recommendation for Risha.

She provides excellent DPS, can AoE (if you wish her to) and is surprisingly resilient. I can take on any same level Champion mob with her: just HoT her up and cycle Underworld Medicine & Emergency Medpack when needed. Plus, you can give her all your hand-me-downs and therefore she's far easier to keep geared compared to Corso or Bowdaar.

As for levelling: once you get Shoot First @ 36, things get even better.

  7. in mind you guys are a hybrid class, and were fully capable of out dps'ing full DPS classes. I swear the crap some people will try to defend is beyond me.

It's worth noting that all classes, as stated by BioWare, are intended to be competitive in DPS. A Scoundrel or Merc (which fit your hybrid definition) most certainly do and should compete with Gunslingers and Marauders.

  8. hmm any chance of seeing your spec??? i didn't take the last 3 items in the sawbone specs so i don't have the 10/20/30% crit increase of the aoe heal.. i wonder if those alone make that HUGE of a difference.....

They won't make a huge difference if you can't pull decent numbers already. My 31 Scoundrel alt can push 120k+ healing in a VS game, no problems at all.

  9. Thanks, When can he catch a ship to the Republic fleet?:)

Always. Just take the first lift from the Coruscant Spaceport to the Fleet, or use your 18h CD Fleet Pass (in your abilities list, via "P").
