  1. Bind a key to cast on self. Means you don't untarget your enemy at all, especially if you are healing. I have it set to side mouse 1 so I can still use shift modifiers and move.
  2. You sound "geared enough". I don't think that's the problem. The Taral V bonus boss wipes a lot of bad groups who don't move fast enough, and the first Esseles boss needs to be tanked facing away from the group to avoid his cone AoE. The tank can AoE taunt the adds as they come, but DPS should be able to use knockbacks and DPS can burn them down since they are only normals.
  3. This. They were 10m even in the last few beta weekends.
  4. Yeah, agreed. Your Kolto Pack suggestion is similar to mine—refreshing SRMP—although an altenative would be to give KP a talented HoT component (100% of direct heal value over 15s) and perhaps a 30% chance to refresh existing HoT's. Med Screen is still super useful, especially in PvP. Personally, I'd drop the Dodge/speed talent and put Med Screen there, and then a Kolto Pack related talent where Med Screen was to keep hybrid builds from being too OP.
  5. The Sage AoE is the exception, and I'm aware it doesn't have a hard limit. Most other AoE's do, and I'd rather have a limited-target, but more powerful heal and/or a heal with a side-effect. We don't need to have killer AoE, but better AoE would be good. Leave the AoE to the Sages - I like my classes to at least be a little different. I totally agree that we need a boost to our single target healing. A boost to SRMP, or the ability to more easily refresh it via direct cast would be of huge benefit. Hence my recommendation for a (reduced energy cost) Kolto Pack - consume 1 Upper Hand and refresh your HoT's on a target + get a half-decent fast cast direct heal. Right now, KP sucks because of it's cost (in energy + UH) and lack of clear benefit.
  6. Smuggled Technology is in the Sawbones tree. "Pushback" is what happens when you're casting and you take damage - it "pushes" the cast time back, so a 2.0s heal may now take 2.5s or even 3.0s. The talent reduces the magnitude of that increase.
  7. It won't affect more than 4 targets. AoE in this game has limits. I do agree that it does need to do a LOT more healing for a 31-point talent. Not so sure on this. We aren't AoE healers - better, would be an increased stack of SRMP, or the ability to refresh the DoT's on our target via Underworld Medicine or even Kolto Pack (and decrease the energy cost of Kolto Pack so it's worth using...).
  8. Everything changes once you get Slow Release Medpack and Emergency Medpack.
  9. It did not. The patch was not 1.1.1 but 1.1.0b, as per http://www.swtor.com/patchnotes
  10. You can get items that look like that. The colors, maybe not, but you can get moddable jackets + pants (level 40 PvP gear). When the mod system update comes in, you'll then be able to transfer your epic armoring/hilts/barrels into orange gear + get the set bonuses too.
  11. I'm just going to comment on the bits where I want to add something. I agree RE: Emergency Medpack being awesome. The +15% buff from the two-piece set bonus should just be baked in. Agreed. The four (4) talent point investment is way too much. It should be +12% crit/1 energy back (1/2) and +24% crit/2 energy back (2/2), and they could toss some +armor or whatever buff in there somewhere to make up for lost points. Since you can't heal from stealth, I completely agree. Using it for a quick target break/reposition means you're boned for the next 10 seconds, which is crazy. If you could heal from stealth (which I don't agree with), I'd understand the debuff. But it doesn't make sense in the current context.
  12. When the cutscene starts, try pressing escape and then manually interacting with the NPC to trigger it. Also, repair your game files via the launcher.
  13. I just wanted to second the recommendation for Risha. She provides excellent DPS, can AoE (if you wish her to) and is surprisingly resilient. I can take on any same level Champion mob with her: just HoT her up and cycle Underworld Medicine & Emergency Medpack when needed. Plus, you can give her all your hand-me-downs and therefore she's far easier to keep geared compared to Corso or Bowdaar. As for levelling: once you get Shoot First @ 36, things get even better.
  14. Risha, when I'm Sawbones. Guss, when I'm DPS. "JEDI POWER!"
  15. Cunning does add to healing. From 30 onwards, you will start to see a lot more Crit & Power on gear as secondary stats. Alacrity will make an appearance too.
  16. It's worth noting that all classes, as stated by BioWare, are intended to be competitive in DPS. A Scoundrel or Merc (which fit your hybrid definition) most certainly do and should compete with Gunslingers and Marauders.
  17. They won't make a huge difference if you can't pull decent numbers already. My 31 Scoundrel alt can push 120k+ healing in a VS game, no problems at all.
  18. Go Cybertech or Biochem, IMO. Cybertech for mods/grenades/ship parts, or Biochem for reusable medpacks. Which are great when levelling, and in end-game content.
  19. Go watch Redtah's Sawbones stream: http://twitchtv.com/redtah
  20. 30-39 gives you Shoot First, which is your key opener and gives you an UH proc. For packs with strongs/elites (most, at 35+), HoT up with SRM and then use your CC on the elite and Shoot First on the Strong to burn it down fast. Cover + Sabotage Charge is still useful and provides solid damage.
  21. Always. Just take the first lift from the Coruscant Spaceport to the Fleet, or use your 18h CD Fleet Pass (in your abilities list, via "P").
  22. At the end of Chapter 1, which is usually between level 15 to 17.
  23. Diagnostic Scan, when talented, could provide an +armor boost to the target. Would be much more sensible and fits with similar talents other healers have.
